This is a question I have often wondered about. Are the masters of Bob still around? They taught Bob everything he knew about combat with the four classes (except there are now five). In the lore, it specified where they were. Nobody has found them yet, but they may be dead by now. In fact, at the end of Bob's training, they all appeared in front of him, though nobody else could see them. There are only two ways that this could make sense. One, that Bob was hallucinating the whole way through a fair part of his life. Or two, that only the one who is to receive Bob-like powers can see the masters. To me, the first theory doesn’t make much sense, as if it was all a hallucination, where would Bob have learnt his powers from? Many other explanations have been tried, such as throwing Bob's tear in the temple of time, but nothing has worked. We see nothing of Bob or the masters when we search for them. The next thing to do is to go through the masters, one by one. Before we begin, though, it should be noted that Bob never had a master who taught him the ways of the Shaman, which may decrease their claim to power in Wynn in future years.

First of all, we can safely assume that Mael is dead. If he were alive he would still be in the Twain mansion. Unless he has been corrupted by the nether or tainted by Dern (neither of which are impossible), he should be long gone. The bow that shares his name, Maelstrom, is said to have washed up on Selchar having been lost by the sailor Carvel in a storm. I doubt Mael would've got rid of his bow to anyone, so we can gather from this that at that time he was already dead.

Secondly, Chak. Said to have taught Bob in the Almuj Desert, we do not know much about him. His dagger, Chakram, has lore saying that in spite of its simple appearance, it is a deadly weapon. It says that only one person (implying Chak) was able to master it. Right, so we know Chakram was very powerful, and lived in the desert. Please comment down below if you have any more information on him. By the way, I realised that Chak is the Mayan god of water and rain, and so for this dude to be stuck in a desert must be pretty jarring :)

Next up, Ethe. So, the mage herself may have lived in one of the many small huts in Nivla, but in the Ragni Library lore, Bob is said to have found her by a floating house. The houses in Nivla Village used to be like this, so she may have lived there. The wand Ethereal is not her wand, but is said in its lore to have been based off her wand. There isn't much we can go on about her, so comment down below if you know anything.

And last but certainly not least, Fier. Master of the spear and a warrior of Troms, we know, again, not much of him. The spear that contains his name, Fierte, is very puzzling. Fier lived in Troms. And yet the lore of the weapon said that this spear was presented to the high-ups of the Gavel armies, and was forged from metal from the molten heights. At this time, there was no travel from Wynn to Gavel and vice versa, as the mages had not yet calmed the sea. So, what? Was Fier from Gavel? If so, how did he get to Wynn? This is really puzzling and may merit its own thread in the future, please comment if you have any theories, I'd love to hear them!

This was my first theory thread and one of my first on the forums, and I hope you enjoyed it. Threads like this will be coming out from me fairly frequently, so stay tuned for the next one - Does Bob's Foster-mother's Shack Still Stand?

Have a good day and a merry Christmas,

Well, they all lived more than 100 years ago, so I would be surprised if they are still alive.

I think it may be safe to say that Ethe came from Mage island, and that Bob had to best the oceans to get there, just as Fier did to get to Gavel.

And he shouldn't, also the Shaman we get to play as doesn't appear to be anywhere near the type of "shaman" Slykaar is, he seems incredibly different, which why Shaman needs a bit or a rename to something like Druid in order to make more sense

Time isn't always a guarantee of age. Marius was mortal, and yet told stories over 200 yrs old.

Your comment about Ethe needs a little rethinking. In the lore, it specifically said she was in Nivla. Yes, she may have come from mage island, in fact I believe that myself as the mage's element is water, which there is a lot of in the oceans (wow!)

The Molten Heights are so far away from Troms it's almost laughable. Fier must have been incredibly powerful to even attempt such a journey in either direction. Also, humans didn't know abut villagers then. If Fier had travelled either way, I'm sure he would've told them the news..

I agree with you about the shamans, but I think Slykaar was tainted by Dern due to what he said in the lore about finding a dark land and a source of power (Dern taints ppl by using their bodies as vessels of darkness, which is commonly thought to be the origin of Slykaar's idea about his slimes).

I believe I have found a house, but the mystery is a little deeper than just that. Next thread will be quite small, as the one after it will be a huge wall of text.
Thank you for your comments, I will thank you in the next thread, along with a few others.

Well, just because he can tell stories that are old, doesn’t mean that he lived at the time. I can tell stories from the 2nd World War, but do you think i was there? No. It was my grandfather that told me the stories and now I know them.

Good answer! I guess you may be right, but explain this to me. In various sources we read of Bob being well over a hundred years old. Now, the masters taught Bob his powers, so they were at least as powerful as him. I know this isn't concrete, but if they were as powerful as him, then it isn't too crazy to say that they shared his increased lifespan. Or not...

Let's just say that after my next thread (check it out) I will be doing a huge one all about Bob's mother. You will find it very interesting as to the reason behind Bob's long life.

Ok, let's just say you'll find my thread after the next one very interesting. Also, the twains were old when corruption started, and Bob was born over 800 yrs later, whic, in the kindest way possibel, disproves your idea.

Well I do have this theory about a Slykaar-Dern connection (just ignore the part where I mention the obelisk, because my theory was pre-Silent Expanse release, and the purpose of the obelisk was shown to have nothing to do with Slykaar) https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/the-dern-obelisk-share-your-theories.256154/

Or, he decided it was not time for the humans to meet them, as the Masters seem to be more than human, with the ability to vanish without notice and such. They may be spirits of the classes themselves?

Sorry for a late answer but I completely forgot about this xd
Only one of the Twain’s tought Bob, Mael. But he turned into a ghost after he died, so whose to say that it wasn’t the ghost teaching Bob the ways of the archer and spirits? Or maybe ghosts can materialise if they so desire, how else can the ghosts in the house of Twain hurt us? So yes, while he was dead he could still teach Bob since if the ghosts throughout Wynn and Gavel can hurt us, they can materialise, and if they can materialise they can look like they weren’t dead. So I think that Mael was dead and just materialised when he was training Bob.
