Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I think it's because I'm part demon," Imp-chan says, "But I don't get tortured like the other humans that get sent there. It's kind of pleasant if you're not getting punished."


Stephanie considers approaching, pausing for a moment, though considers the naga an encounter she'd rather avoid. Stephanie covers her face with her helmet again in attempt to hide it from any further inspection from the naga, before continuing onward.


"Probably a bunch of necronomiphiliacs..." Abigail says, sounding disgusted.

 

“That sounds kinda like the underworld in my reality. It’s more of a haven for demons than a torture ground.”


She finds a note stuck between pieces of armor after she leaves.
“Yes, hello. I’m Scurn, by all means do not speak with me. I’m a jerk.”


“You’re really bent on this narrative, aren’t you? Whatever... you said you had parents earlier. Are they even still alive? I thought you were part of the orphan party.”

 

"Is it ruled over by a god of death too?" Imp-chan asks, curious.

The guards don't seem to have an issue with letting Imp-chan into the palace, likely because she's with Ihra.


Stephanie looks at the note, puzzled, but otherwise disregards it.


"Yeah. I go to visit them sometimes. My mum always wants me to stay for longer than I do though," Abigail explains, "Why'd you think I was an orphan? Artemis is the only guardian orphan I know."

 

“No, it does have royalty though.”


Nothing else out of the norm happens.


“You act like you raised yourself, which sounds like I’m not entirely wrong in that regard.”

 

"What kind of royalty?" Imp-chan asks.


"Well excuse me princess." Abigail says, putting her hands on her hips and looking annoyed.

 

“Just either a queen or king. A hierarchy of strength, similar to how shadows used to be.”


“You’re only further proving my point. I’m curious to meet your parents now, but I was hoping to meet Katie.”

 

"Oh, sort of like the colosseum!" Imp-chan says happily, "But with...actual rewards."


"If you want to meet her directly you're on your own," Abigail says, "You could head back to my place and I could invite her over though. I promise I won't throw you in my volcano for the fun of it."

 

“Sort of. There’s a bunch of for-sport coliseums in my reality, though. The biggest one is the Void Chronoseum.”


“Thanks for the comforting words, Madeline.” I say sarcastically. “Joke aside, sure I suppose. I still have a bit of time to kill.”

 

"Is that the one the succubus announcers went to?" Imp-chan asks, "I miss them, they were really nice..."


"Want a ride there? It's a bit of a walk otherwise." Abigail asks, sounding kind.

 

“Yes. I could see if they have a break after we visit Eve if you want.” Ihra offers.


“I appreciate the offer, but I could use the exercise.” I chuckle. “Worst case scenario, I’ve got family who’d carry me there.”

 

"Really?" Imp-chan asks, surprised and excited.


"Considering your weird partial omniscience, I assume you know where my place is then?" Abigail asks.

 

“Why not? Aj’s still taking his sweet time getting back to me or Iris. I don’t have any commitments until he gets back, really.” Ihra shrugs.


“No, actually. I had to get directions here, I don’t just have this Earth memorized.”

 

Imp-chan looks delighted, striding happily through the hallways of the palace.


Abigail gives the human a look like he's doing this on purpose to annoy her.

"Alright, let's get going then." Abigail sighs, heading away from the arcade.

 

Ihra follow, checking to see if Imp-chan knows where the robotics lab is.


I follow.
“What, not fond of walks?”

 

Considering the fact Imp-chan seems to be looking in random rooms and wandering about almost randomly, she doesn't appear to know.


"I offered to fly you there and this is going to take way longer than it needs to take." Abigail says, sounding frustrated.

 

"...Follow my lead." Ihra sighs, heading straight for the robotics lab.


"You don't look in good shape, so how about you just guide one of my brothers?" I ask, opening a somewhat large portal that leads to a dragon poking its head through in curiosity.
"I don't want you to take even longer to heal than you already have spent."

 

Imp-chan follows, looking a little embarrassed.


"I can fly well enough!" Abigail says, offended and partially lying.

Abigail changes into her dragon form - stepping slightly away from the human to do so - before taking flight.

 

"Don't sweat it, it's a big palace. Granted, not as big as Xlentia's, but certainly more complex." Ihra says, continuing on.


"Land now!" I demand. "You're in even worse shape than I thought, you won't even make it a mile!"
The dragon looking through the portal crawls out and starts expanding the portal, as a much larger dragon eyes Abigail with worry.

 

Imp-chan stays quiet, looking disappointed in herself.


Abigail just roars in return, flying faster.

 

"I suppose not knowing where the lab is would complicate you sneaking into it even if I didn't wind up stopping you..." Ihra sighs as she walks up to the lab.


I sigh, hopping on the back of the smaller dragon that takes off after her as the portal closes.
