what you have to do is take classes about automation in brilliant and then apply then into making a army of bots that create randomized emails and dislikes youtube videos
all for a cheap price of 9.99$ a year

anyways lets get back to this fourm post about youtube rewind

When I saw the like to dislike ratio and the first few seconds, I thought it was going to be as cringy as the last one.

And it was fine. Sure, you could say it wasn’t as creative as the skits of previous Rewinds. But it's obvious from last couple of years that YouTube can't do that well anymore.

But isn't the point of Rewind to show off the highlights and milestones of creators throughout the year, whether big or small?

What I like about this Rewind above all the others is that it justifies who's in it and actually says who they are and what they got famous for. In any other Rewind, they'd just have a creator make a cameo or a cringy joke or some weird, stupid reference that only their fans would get. If you didn't know who that creator was already, then you'd still be lost. So less people can look them up. That's why there's so many comments of, "I don't know who half these people are." Which defeats the whole point of recognizing creators and what they did!

And because people don't know who half these people are, they complain that X should've been in Rewind. The biggest example being PewDiePie last year. Well, he's in it multiple times throughout the video, and even more controversial figures such as James Charles was in it too. Which is kinda surprising since YouTube has been accused of trying to white wash controversial figures such as PewDiePie.

TL;DR The biggest fault of the video is that it's not as entertaining as some of the earlier Rewinds, but this Rewind actually feels... like a Rewind! It doesn't try to be sappy or anything more than it actually is. Unlike every other Rewind, it serves its purpose of recognizing creators, both big and small, and it justifies their appearance. You may not agree with every reason, but at least it is a reason, not just some cameo or cringy joke or obscure reference. YouTube can't and shouldn't do skits anymore, and even their better past ones don't serve Rewind's purpose either.

That's why I think this doesn't deserve to be called a monstrosity, and especially not compared to last year's.

It is, but it feels lazy and boring to me.

 

But like, what else do you want them to do? Say how much social justice they are doing around a campfire? Or have celebrities flossing? Or PewDiePie say “Brofist!”? Or just be random for the lolz?

The earlier Rewinds may not have been as cringey as the last few, but they’re still “I’m random and therefore funny!”

 

I do not know what I want, but I know that I did not enjoy what this years rewind was.

 

Idk if going back to skits will be better though. Maybe Rewind can’t please everyone anymore...

That is true, rewind cannot please everyone. Also, to clarify, I don't like the recent skits, but liked the earlier skits. Don't know if its nostalgia or rose-tinted glasses of the past, or my lower standards when I was littler, but I'm going to rewatch them later either way.

 

Goddamn it’s only been 2 days and it’s already beaten “It’s Everyday Bro” and it’s the 3rd most disliked video on the entirety of YT. I could see it beating Baby, probably not Rewind 2018 though.

Even though I’m sure most of the dislikes are bandwagon hate, it’s still not a good video imo. Maybe if we keep disliking these, YT will get the message that we don’t want these rewinds anymore

 

It does have a better dislike to like ratio and almost has as many likes as 2018.

I just really, REALLY hope that this doesn’t make them go back to skits. I wouldn’t mind the new format of Rewind, but at the same time I wouldn’t miss Rewind as a whole that much. The main argument Id used to keep it around is that it recognizes smaller creators, which can help them significantly.

I thought Watchmojo was just shitposting, but I saw too many comments actually praising their Rewind.

You gotta be kidding me; it’s literally the same format as Rewind 2019 but with just US creators. Yet it has a much better dislike to like ratio...

Yeah, let’s just end Rewind. No one will ever be happy with it, no matter what YouTube does.
