Before someone immediately wants to respond "when a mob dies it explodes and does damage to nearby mobs" or anything of the sort I know that :P Also for all of these questions assume you have 100% exploding chance on your armor, weapon, accessory or whatever means you want.

    What I mean is:
    - what can and can not cause exploding? (Easy question, are all spells capable of triggering exploding?)
    - How is its damage determined? (Is it melee raw based, percent based, is it based on the base dmg of weapon, is it spell raw, spell percent etc?)
    - What can exploding trigger? (Bonus effects such as powders, stealing, etc)

What I have been told, and what I have tested:
    - Exploding can not trigger itself (A chain of explosions is not possible)
    - Triggers on any killing blow (Including spells it would seem)

Asking because I never get a clear answer lol

Generic Answer Sources: one, two, and three but according to this one spells can't trigger it but after some testing it does seem to...

    - Any killing hit can trigger exploding (I'm pretty sure the player of the killing hit is the exploding chance used). A mob being killed from exploding damage can also trigger exploding.
    - I wish we knew
    - It used to but no longer triggers lifesteal. So I'm pretty sure it doesn't trigger anything.

Only thing I know for sure from this is exploding can NOT trigger exploding again, asked about this and I got that clear on discord. I also asked Altakar in a lobby and they said "I don't think so, if it did we would know" (I use the bow zero, which gives over 100% explode and I haven't seen a chain explode)

sorry if this came off rude I'm going to add this to the original post as I forgot to mention

Huh, interesting. I would have expected this to be the case, given that at least one item design seems to rely upon this (Collapse).

It is very possible my tests just didn't work and that Altakar didn't know either, I was using a stinger at the time (had no zero yet), and I may have just thought it was one explosion but it was multiple (I test on lvl 1 stuff, so it is pretty hard to tell)

Perhaps what you thought was a chain of explosions was actually area damage? I'm just speculating here.
