Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“I don’t think he’s in right now, but did something go wrong at home?” She asks.

“While I’m thinking of the king... you didn’t happen to go back on the scene being a ruse and hurt him anyways, did you?” She telepathically asks Tenebrae in an accusing tone.

“It sounds similar to a thing some people call me the day after I swipe something of theirs.”

 

"Not really, but it would give my family and town some extra funding for a more comfortable lifestyle. We're...not as well off as some of the bigger communities." Tiril says.


Tenebrae doesn't respond.

 

“Well, whenever the king comes back I’ll put in a good word for you. Can’t do much else at the moment.”

 

"Thanks, that means a lot." Tiril says, seeming to warm up to Ihra a bit, "T-Though, I don't know what I'll do if he isn't at the p-palace..."

 

"The guards and other workers there will be able to work with you. He actually spends a fair amount of time away from the palace, the queen a bit less so though I'm not sure she's in either. Hell, if you came a year ago then you'd rarely see the king around."

 

"D-Does he have some kind of, j-job application service?" Tiril asks.

 

"I dunno. He should, though." Ihra shrugs.

 

Tiril looks rather nervous, glancing up toward the palace as well as the Shadows hanging around.

 

"Things'll work out. Trust me, things are much better here than they are back in the other reality... That aside, what's your home like?"

 

"Calm, and a lot less hostile than here..." Tiril says, wincing as he passes a group of Shadows playing loud songs with rather vulgar lyrics, "The forests are a lot more welcoming, too. Especially the one I live in."

 

"I mean, yeah. Earth's a lot friendlier than... this. I meant, like, where on Earth. If you were lost in this realm for a while, your family might be worried. I need to go to Earth anyways, I could stop by and let everyone know you're fine."

 

"My forest is in the south-eastern part of the north-east quadrant. It's a redwood forest, near to mountains," Tiril describes, "It's called Ardell."

 

"Ardell, redwood near mountains. Got it." Ihra nods. "I don't think redwoods will be terribly hard to find."

 

"It's been fairly free of human activity for...a few decades now, but some still come by sometimes." Tiril says.

 

“Well, hopefully a dragon won’t scare everyone there off.” Ihra says, giggling.

 

"We've had fire guardians in our forest before. We've made sure they've kept out of trouble, but I'm sure you won't scare anyone." Tiril says positively.

 

"Kleptomaniac? Yeah, that's what you call someone with kleptomania."

 

“What’s a kleh... uh, klep-to-mania?”

“I’m pretty bad at scaring people in general, I just know dragons are pretty rare on Earth.”

 

"Well, your people managed to stop them from being hunted to complete extinction. Nobody wanted to mess with a dragon that had complete control of fire, and could easily change form to avoid their attacks," Tiril says, almost as if admiring Ihra, "I suppose fire guardians and actual dragons do have some sort of unspoken brotherhood though."

 

“Oh... no, I’m not a fire guardian. I’m a fairly renowned healer, with a control over life and light.”
