High Or Low Lvl Missions?

Is it better to go for higher level quests first, or to start at level 1 quests and go from lowest to highest?

I'm a mage level 21

 

Missions (more like Quests) are optional, you don't need to do them. They don't have a huge impact on gameplay, they only give xp, emeralds an sometimes items, but their main purpose is entertainment, they are little enjoyable adventures. Higher level quests give more xp but they are also harder, opposite with lower level ones. There is no set or objectively good order in which to do them. You can skip them, come back later to complete one, completely ignore them, or do them as soon as you can. You can do whatever you want basically.

I’m pretty new to the game and I didn’t realize that they were 2 different things

 

Quests can massively boots you in leveling, as well as giving you emeralds, items and sometimes acces to places (dungeons, fast travel, grind spots)

 

Yeah, but should I start from the lower lvl 1 missions and work my way up, or start with the higher level mission that are closer to my level?

 

You should do all of them, preferably to start with the lower ones

 

The quests give you a lot of the storyline (Wynn's war with the corruption and the backstory of the different regions), later quests expand to the other continents outside of Wynn as well.
Low lvl quests mostly serve to introduce new players to different aspects of the game (powders, resource gathering etc.) and bring them to new areas, they might not give you considerable rewards compared to your lvl now but they're always fun to do just for the story itself.
