However Wynncraft content and similar might be safe, depending on different factors.

He used to be good, but then his theories got bad

 

As far I understand, minecraft may be a kid's game, but it doesn't mean all minecraft content is for kids.
Wynncraft contains some stuff that can best be described as "minecraft gore" and some stuff that might be not too safe for kids.

A blocky cutscene of a woman having her heart torn out by her posessed husband isn't really "for children" is it? Bak'al murdering and burning down an entire city as the citizens try to escape isn't really meant to appeal to children, is it?

I'd say the main problem will be bots unable to separate wynncraft and minecraft - though the texture pack will probably help a lot and they might pick up on the video names meaning "not for kids)

(But hopefully my 3,5 videos are safe)

 

For the COPPA, I think as long as Youtube makes their terms more clear than just "set for kids" and "not set for kids", perhaps having a target audience age range such as 0-8, 9-13, 14-17, 18+ that we can set our content to then I think we'll be okay in the grand scheme of things.


As for me, my main concerns were focused on the 'commercially viable' part but after seeing this tweet my concerns went away.

It really started to go down hill when FNAF started.... Jesus it became so bad that one of his regular jokes became how he kept milking the franchise. I think he has now 25 videos on FNAF... twenty *fucking* five videos...

And coppa just needs to be reevaluated, those rules will just not fit for content made in the modern world. It harbors too much of old thinking, it needs to be adjusted to be more millennial.

 

If YouTube somehow marks Wynncraft as "toward kids", just release a 10 hr loop of Wynnston's death in FF.

This was the weirdest comment I've ever read.
Art isn't made for money? No, in a way you're right however, you seem to mean that artists shouldn't earn money. How do you think quality content is made? Because if it was about having little money those "small tiny crap commentaries" are those made with the least money spent and earned. You seem to want great art but made on no budget by a starving artist.

Now how are the small youtubers a problem, they aren't the ones making money, they make nothing. COPPA won't remove them, COPPA will remove the larger channels praying on kids for a living. And quite frankly I do not think there is a dream of living rent free creating incentives for content creation.

COPPA will have the opposite effect of what you think it will in that case. "Low bitrate crap" can't be made unless you have the hardware/software for it, and if you can't earn anything on YT how could that "art" be made?
