Also why y'all think the dark realm is evil? It's just a parallel dimension to the light one, we still don't know if they are evil or not

 

This got more complicated now, Salted said that it’s the “Realm of Dern”, I think this info is outdated.

There is probably no dark realm anymore, I don’t know but I guess they replaced it with Dern realm and they are evil since they took control of one of the region and started attacking.

 

I remember it as that an apocalyptic event happened in dern causing a wave of dern immigrants. It also makes more sense that the wynnic people got dernic items from trading with a province rather than going through a portal to another dimension to buy boots

 

Yeah, that’s what I mean. I there’s some justification from what I mentioned earlier about Wynn Excavation Site D, but it’s never elaborated on since we never enter the Nether.

Yeah, now that I think of it there are a lot of Dernic stuff in our realm. But Dern is a realm in lore now, the 1.19 page confirm it.

Just reading about it now and I missed the retcon where Dern was replaced by Fruma in the corkus update. I thought there were four because I was including Dern, but I guess it has been just three for a couple years now. My bad.

Oh, I'm just dumb, I just saw on the wiki that Dern was changed to Fruma during the Corkus update. There are only three major provinces; Fruma, Wynn and Gavel, Dern used to be one, but it's mainly a dimension now, and Corkus is not technically a province but they think they are one.

seems there's a lot of arguing going on here and i just kinda want to type out my thoughts on the matter

first of all, the eye is absolutely not the big bad. we've seen that there's a beast behind the eye, and that the eye is only really in the silent expanse to keep an eye on everything
the thing behind the eye (which i will now be referring to as dern beast because i can) is the big bad behind all the darkness in wynn

there are the two main realms - the light realm, and the dark realm (which is dern). they're constantly fighting, which manifests itself as corruption in the nether.
then there's the third realm, which is our good ol land of the provinces
everything was fine and cool in the provinces for a while, as the corruption was contained in the nether
but then the miners dug too deep, and opened the nether portal, unleashing corruption on the world

this really only affected wynn, but gavel's been having some other issues
there's the light realm portal (which i guess has probably been there the whole time, resulting in the more magical stuff in gavel), which has been spreading the light realm's influence
apparently the decay's been happening for a solid 1000 years
and apparently this is because whats his face orphion (the light beast, probably mr dern beast's light counterpart) got infected with a parasite
also, side note. i forgot how weird realm of light was. apparently there's corruption in there for some reason? idfk
but, anyways. in the realm of light quest we're told that orphion is the physical representation of the light realm - if he dies, light realm dies. AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW, HES DYING

tl;dr:
there's two realms - light and dark. dark realm is dern, because yeah. both realms have been at war for all time, resulting in the corruption of the nether. this was fine and dandy until some greedy miners opened the nether portal, releasing the corruption on the wynn province. thats whats up with the nether lol
