Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“What do you want? If it’s bullets, you don’t need to ask.” Idhaenna says, a red dot appearing on the shadow’s forehead.

 

"Oh my, violence? I'm just here to make a simple deal, and it seems like time isn't exactly on your side." The Shadow says, looking overly shocked and offended, before reverting back to his grin.

With a snap of his fingers, a contract and ink-dipped quill appears, a noticeable red 'X' at the bottom.

"Really, all the two of you need to do is sign this silly little contract and I'll have you out of there in a jiffy." The Shadow says with a smile. The bomb beeps as it reaches one minute and thirty seconds.

 

Idhaenna scans the contract, reading it in the span of a second.
“If you’re gonna blow us up, mind at least telling us your name? Mine’s Iana, it’s rude to kill people you’ve just met.”

 

“That’s a good comparison. You’re a quick thinker.”
I’m purposely ambiguous in my tone.

 

The contract seems to detail giving away Idhaenna's powers and essentially becoming a servant to the Shadow for eternity; for the reward of getting out of this situation.

"There's no need for names, just the signing of this here contract." The Shadow says, grinning.

 

Idhaenna laughs.
"Remind me why I don't just kill you here and now? Explaining myself to Tenebrae's a hell of a lot easier than doing things in anyone else's way. Though, I must admit, you've got some interesting tech to shut out a shield even that old." She says, considering swapping the locations of the shadow and the contract.
"Ah, whatever. How many of these you got?" Idhaenna says, warping the bomb to some other dimension while leaving the shield in place.

"You're just really irritated." Scurn mumbles.

 

The Shadow snaps his fingers, and a new bomb appears. It seems to have a field of null-magic around it, and counts down from 15 seconds. Tiril looks rather nervous.

 

Idhaenna finger-guns at the shadow, warping the bomb away despite the null-magic field.
"Fifteen more? Alright, let's go." She says, seeming amused.

 

The Shadow looks a little annoyed, before snapping his fingers once more. He disappears in a puff of smoke, and the interior of the shield explodes.

 

Idhaenna phases herself and Tiril to another plane, stepping outside of the confines of the shield, and looking for the shadow's soul.
"Technology, bitch!" She giggles.

 

The Shadow seems to have disappeared entirely, though Idhaenna feels herself being watched by something. Tiril glances around nervously, before looking behind himself and freezing up.

 

Idhaenna returns the duo to the realm of shadows, turning around as her seraphic mechsuit forms over her body.

 

A large spider appears to be waiting for the pair, a hard outer shell covering most of it's body and protecting it from Idhaenna's shocks. It slowly raises a leg, before quickly stabbing it down, rupturing the ground between Idhaenna and Tiril.

 

Idhaenna intercepts the strike with her mech, its shield more than capable of taking a hit as she retaliates with a rifle blast towards its head.
“I’ve been doing so well not killing anyone, and here you come cutting it close.” She sighs, swarms of nanobots deploying from her mech and moving out to coat the spider’s shell.

 

The spider quickly flips over, legs inverting as it sprays a blast of sticky web to capture both the nanobots and Idhaenna and Tiril.

 

Idhaenna’s mech wings project the shield to cover Tiril, though she fires an electrified quill towards the source of the webbing while deflecting the bulk of it with another rifle shockwave.

 

The spider flips back over, suddenly burrowing into the ground with alarming speed.

 

Idhaenna swaps places with Tiril, closing up the cockpit of her mech as she uses her lodged quill to track the spider.

 

The spider seems to be below the pair, rising quickly toward them.

 

I give a small chuckle.
