I might be missing out on something since the beta "only just started", but from what I have seen, the Hunted Mode only gives you a bonus of 1.42 times the normal amount of xp you would be getting.
Thats a flat xp bonus of 42% for gathering..

Now is it just me, or is it just REALLY not worth it the risk of getting swarmed by players in combat gear and losing all your equipment for a flat 42% bonus?

There was an issue Kaas had brought up over at the main changelog thread specifically about this:

Here's my opinion on his reply:

    Things to note:
    • Hunted players can't get damaged by their friends/party members/guild members. You could theoretically make a huge coalition and just make huge parties.
    • The 100 durability on tools will still make leveling up hard despite the flat 42% xp bonus on top of the extra 20-50% xp buff applied.
    • Some people may just run hunted mode with nothing but mythics and horses since those are guaranteed not to drop (memechief/fire weapon anyone?)
So in the end, it is worth it in my opinion, but as Kaas brought up, it may ruin the profession market.

True, though I think you have to differenciate:

Immediatly after the update, the servers are (presumably) going to be full as heck because of hype etc.
The risk of running into said trolls or just normal players hunting others is most certainly going to be higher for the first few weeks after the update, and for that, the 1.42x multiplier is not really going to be enough for convincing players to use hunted mode.
Yes. After the initial storming of players ends, then 1.42 sounds very fair, but b4 that, I just cant see that many players using hunted mode if the drawbacks are realistically high (say, you cant just run around with gear and switch to normal mode on a whim, etc. Maybe you can only switch back when you are inside a safe place?)
Also, if you die, you have a chance to lose your gathering tools.
And tbh, many ppl (or at least me) cant be ar*ed to seriously spamrun dungeons just for new gathering tools or new gathering xp armour.

I forgot about losing tools damn it. Don't forget that I think you only lose ~10% of id-ed equipment. I'd still risk it though as long as a huge coalition is made (party) lol. Otherwise I'm going to have to reconsider for the tool loss possibility.

Quick Question, If I fill my inventory with id-ed equipment, will i have a smaller chance of losing my important stuff?

Probably not because its a 10% chance for each id-ed item.
