Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Praecantatia waves goodbye happily as Mortius glides over to Temporus.


The water guardian runs off the ship holding a bundle of scrolls. They run over to Apocalypse, unsure of who else to go to.

"Um, who should I give these floor plans to?" The water guardian asks, sounding a little nervous.

 

Idhaenna uses the watch to get back to Praecantatia’s isles before leaving the watch near her tree and opting to visit the Realm of Shadows.


“Literally anyone other than the executioner.” Apocalypse sighs. “Why the hell do people keep coming to me?”

I guess, but if she wanted us to follow her, wouldn’t it be easier to go with us instead of run off?

 

Getting into the realm of shadows is fairly easy, nothing prevents Idhaenna's entrance. She can't seem to directly enter the main palace grounds, however.


"Oh, well, you just seemed like the one in charge." The water guardian says, turning red with embarrassment.

 

She turns to explore the wilderness, noting her remaining time


“The person in charge is dead. There’s just... us, as a whole, now. Again.”

 

A large wolf-like shadow beast immediately confronts Idhaenna, a writhing mass of what seems like small tentacles or leeches covering it's back. It growls, some of the tentacles jumping from it's back and slithering toward Idhaenna.


After thinking for a bit, the water guardian turns around and runs back to the ship.

A few forest guardians join hands to grow what looks to be a palm tree in the sand by the shore. Large green coconuts are produced, falling into the sand in front of the guardians. One of the forest guardians takes out a particularly sharp looking knife, and begins to remove the outer layer from the coconuts.

 

Idhaenna smiles at it before starting to continue on, one of her cores starting to glow.


Apocalypse doesn’t bother turning around, though Mirage seems a bit curious as an invisible horn starts to poke above the sand.

 

"Yeah. I'm not sure anymore."

 

The wolf immediately lunges at Idhaenna, mass of tentacles trying to constrain her as it tries to bite on to her neck.


The forest guardians eventually remove the outer layers from all the coconuts, another guardian creating a vine from the palm tree to quickly puncture them. They begin drinking the milk from the coconuts, seeming to enjoy it like a treat they've missed.

Aquira eventually leaves the ship, the water guardian with the floor plans following close behind. She heads to the shore overlooking her ruined palace and puts her fingers to her mouth, whistling loud and clear and alerting her crew members mingling with the construction workers. Aquira's crew heads out of the water, gathering in front of her as she makes a speech.

"Since these workers seem to be leaderless, it seems like it's up to me to take up that role. Tell them to pause their efforts and come here so I may begin assigning you work groups based on floor." Aquira announces clearly.

"Yes captain!" The crew says in unison, heading back into the water and asking the draconians working on Aquira's palace to meet up with her.

 

Electricity lashes out at the beast as if Idhaenna was a tesla coil, deeply burning it where the bolts struck.


All but eight head over, curious. The rest seem to be keeping things intact while the others worked.

Can’t dwell on it too much. Though, remind me why we’re chasing after her?

 

The wolf howls in pain, quickly shrinking to a smaller more normal looking wolf and running off.


"I'll be taking over the lead on reconstruction from this point onward. Each of you will be assigned a group and a floor plan to work on. I expect the best from all of you, and failure will result in punishment." Aquira commands, speaking loud and clear. She reaches her hand out to her side, and the water guardian beside her struggles a bit as she takes out the ground floor plan. A thin, straight wave of water suddenly bolts through the sand, drawing lines between the gathered group of draconians and guardians.

"You are group Alpha, and will be working on the ground floor," Aquira says, pointing the floor plan toward the leftmost group. A earth guardian from the group runs up and takes the floor plan from Aquira, before returning, "I want the rest of you to go out and gather materials for group Alpha and yourselves. If you find yourself lacking a job, then assist group Alpha. If you have any complaints, please make them clear to me."

Aquira turns around, having finished her command, and heads back to her ship. The water guardian doesn't seem to notice her leave at first, but hurriedly races after her when she does. The earth guardian in group Alpha opens up the floor plan he took, showing it to the rest of the group.

 

Idhaenna continues on, keeping her tesla powered.


Nobody in group Alpha raises any concerns, and most of the others start conjuring materials.

One draconian, however, does step towards Aquira after she turns around.
“You don’t have the scepter. Why should I listen to the woman who broke her vow to protect the late Admiral?” He asks, seeming more curious than challenging. “As per the pact, I am not required to take orders from you due to either mentioned reason.”

 

"Because she ran off while a storm is coming. She didn't the shelter in the village."

 

A few other shadow beasts challenge Idhaenna, though most of them get scared off by the tesla. Up ahead, Idhaenna can see what looks like a dense forest, strange fruits growing on dark trees.


"If you do not wish to work, then you do not have to," Aquira says, turning back around, "Though do understand that you'll be exempt from any kind of reward once the others have finished, and I do not take well to people interrupting my crew."

Aquira keeps a hand on her cutlass, looking serious.

 

“I mean, Gaia’s not really the one that got here. You’d probably have to turn to Aj for that.”

 

"I'm turning to Gaia because from what I've heard she has the lowest chance of killing me where I stand out of boredom."

Idhaenna's hololens scans for any nearby souls as she slows her pace.


The draconian nods, and five others turn away from the working group.
"I appreciate the heads-up." He says, turning to join the other people calling it quits.

Right... so we think she's hiding something?

 

"That's what I can make out of it, yeah.."

 

We already found out she used a love spell. What else could she hide?

 

"Your guess would be as good as mine."

 

She notices a guardian soul inside the forest, though they seem to be rather lost.


Aquira glares at the draconians quitting, though doesn't do anything more.

 

"...That might be true."
I look around, getting a better bearing on where I am before deciding where to go.
