“My mistake. Ti’Lin.”
“Now that I think, why that name? I mean no offense. I simply have not heard much of the story you are willing to tell of yourself.”

 

"It's a nickname. Sort of."

"My original name is Tidewater from the Goldfur family, or Tidewater Goldfur. Our race usually names their people after natural elements. Storms, tides, nature, etc."

"My mother's name was Linum, which I believe is a type of flower."

"After both my parents died, I adapted my mother's name, as I already had my father's lastname. So my full name is Tidewater Linum Goldfur. Ti'Lin Goldfur for sort."

 

"A funny thing, the past..."

Erevan regards Althaios intently, hardly seeming to notice the pouring rain.

"Walk with me through this ruin, Althaios. Walk with me and I shall tell you why your past does not trouble me."

 

Alth:"Lead the way ervan"

 

I start slowly through the ashes, conjuring a light to illuminate the way through the rain.

"... you, ah, don't need to worry about me not letting you fight. There... was certainly a time when I would have called for your expulsion from our party, I admit. I still saw myself as some sort of... holy avenger, amada that I was. Only the most virtuous heroes would be suitable companions in my righteous quest. Hah!"

"N'uma ner. No more. Enough self-righteousness. I won't stop anyone who wants to fight for this cause. Banishing the plague matters above all else."

"Still, I imagine your soul is pained nonetheless. It's... unorthodox, in a place like this, I know, but would you like a confessional?"

 

Alth:"I think I just did that..."
I chuckle

Alth:"However I suppose so..."

Alth and erevan talk for awhile and eventually head back to the tavern.

 

@SPYROHAWK I go quickly to my room to change out of my wet clothing, and hang the aforementioned wet clothing by the nearest fireplace (if there is one) to dry.

Once changed, I head back to the bar room to have the dinner that Althaios interrupted.

 

"Welcome back."

Ti'Lin is still writing.

 

Erevan just nods. His mind doesn't seem to on what he's doing.

 

"Say, you don't have volume 2 or 3 about the 'History of the Skull' on you, do you?"

"I know we got them, but I can't really find them."

 

"I have the elvish one, whichever one that was."

OOC: at least, if I'm remembering this correctly.

 

"Oh, perfect. That's volume 2."

"I'm almost done translating volume 1, so if you could hand me that volume, I would appreciate it."

 

Now, where is Volume 3 ? x)

 

I retrieve it from my bag and pass it to you.

 

Heat, exiting his still focus on Ti’Lin’s writing turns to look at you.
“So you both were not mere figments. That is reassuring.
He looks back to the paper.
“I welcome you back.”

 

"Do you doubt object permanence?"

"I suppose I can't disagree that this day has tested my sanity..."

 

Althiaos comes back a a little after erevan and plops down

Alth:"Another ale please?"

 

"Likely not my doubt of reality but a muster of probabilities I cannot escape. A composition of calculations; the possibilities where even my trust in what is real is shattered due to abnormalities, unpredictable."
Heat tenses as he rambles on, blankly staring into the imprints of Ti'Lin's work.
"Or perhaps I am exhausted. That is it."
He closes his eyes.

 

I'll take it and re-cast Comprehend Languages once I'm done with the first volume to start with the second.
