Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Idhaenna snaps, a portal to the Void opening in front of Amethyst as she waves before going through. It takes a second for the portal to close after she’s through, though.
Idhaenna looks a bit crazed, though, seeming something between content and lost.

“I appreciate your concern, but I assure you that I will be able to hold my own once again given time.” Gaia says, smiling at her counterpart.

 

"Hmm.. yeah, that's difficult. And you have absolutely no way of tracking him?"

 

"Fair enough."

 

"I wouldn't expect anything less from myself in another reality." Gaia says happily.

 

“I know we don’t exactly get along, but I can arrange for a crew to help you rebuild your palace.” Idhaenna offers.
Gaia hesitates, but smiles.
“At this point... I’d appreciate it. I love it in this reality, but it’s just not home.”

“I take it you don’t work with many people who write and weave their own spells?”

“Well... no. There was something to track him with, but he took it with him when he went. None of us expected for him to just up and vanish.”

 

"I understand, I don't think I could live in your reality - if this one was under the same sort of siege as yours - even if my gardens were destroyed." Gaia nods.

"Perhaps you and Praecantatia could work together to help rebuild both Gaia's realm and your apparently bad relations." Lux suggests.

 

“As long as she doesn’t try to use that time to try and mess with Stella. I won’t ever take kindly to such a threat to my followers.” Idhaenna says, serious but somewhat yielding.
”Relax, would you? I’m sure Praecantatia would be willing to agree to something.” Gaia says, seeming a bit annoyed with Idhaenna’s paranoia.

 

"I don't work with any that make their spells that way."

 

“Do you have any idea how people make their spells?”

 

"Track him with?"

 

"Considering the fact she hasn't mentioned it in any of our meetings as of late, I think she's cast it out of her mind as a problem." Lux says.

 

"I figure many do it differently."

"That, or she's pulling an Idhaenna and obsessing over it." Gaia says, glaring at Idhaenna.
"Hey, hey, that was seven galactic cycles ago. Give it a rest!" She protests.
"History has a tendency to repeat itself." Gaia responds flatly.

"You know, find him. Sort of like how your bestial senses track prey, but for guardians. Instead of a person doing it, there was an item. Again, he took it with him, which makes it useless to us."

"I mean, yeah, most people just use premade spells. It's not a bad way to go, they're refined over eons, but they'll never have the edge if it comes down to details."

I've been trudging along for nearly four years, pretty sure I don't need help at this point. If I do, I don't want it.

 

"But you're talking about it like it is an item, not a sense of smell or hearing."

 

"I'm saying that it is an item, but it served the same purpose."

 

"Right. Hmm."

"Well, may aswell hope he comes back some day."

 

"Considering the love she has for her daughter - as well as her personality in general - I don't think she'd get so obsessed with something she'd hide it from us." Lux explains.

"Yeah, Praecantatia would never go crazy over a little thing." Gaia comments happily.

 

"I'm saying if people were to make spells, it seems like they probably do it differently than you where I'm from."

 

“In that case, I may get to be a bad student elsewhere.”

“I hope you’re right.”
“They know her better than we do.” Idhaenna shrugs.

“We’ve been waiting for about forty years now.”
