[d&d] Masin Campaign [full]

Alright.
"This fight just doesn't end."
I use my bonus action to cast Hail of Thorns on myself (using a second level spell slot). Then I use my bow to fire an arrow at Nux.
To hit: 14+6=20
Damage: 4+3+1= 8 piercing
Hail of Thorns activates.
Nux (and the arm if he's nearby, I really can't tell looking at the map) must make a Dexterity save, DC 13. They take *rolls dice* 17 damage on a fail, 8.5 8 on a success.

Aaron also gets to attack. He targets Nux.
To hit: 6+6=12
On the off chance that does hit, damage: 8(got max rolls on both d4's)+3= 11 piercing damage
Nux has to make the saving throw to avoid being knocked prone.

Also, I just remembered Aaron has pack tactics but rolling again got me a 2 so it doesn't matter.

 

(Death on a fail or success of the dex save, so it doesn't matter)
As the hail of thorns pierces through Nux's imposter, holes in its disguise are revealed. The tears in the Nux's surface turn black and sear, like a film burning. Both of his arms and the projection of Ordon's clutch his heart.
"It was our honor... heroes."
As he finishes his sentence, the real Stay is uncovered. Dropping to its knees, it falls face-forward into the pool of water. Its red cloak dilutes into the water, creating a swirl of blood seeping from where the thing lays.. dead.
The false Nux, or Oblivion Stayed, is defeated.

You can investigate the area, which is now becoming calmer as the storm subsides and the waters stop rushing towards the middle of the misty dome. Once more than half of the party is ready to leave, this area (or at least this version of it) won't become accessible again.

 

I fly forward to examine the remains of Oblivion Stayed.

 

I calm down off of my Haste high, then look around.

 

The area looks about the same, except the rains have stopped, the lightning has faded, and the waters are still. You're still trapped in what looks to be a dome with walls of dark, menacing clouds. Stars now peek out from behind the blankets of mist.

However, you're missing a party member. Violatus.

 

I walk over and look at the remains of Stayed, silent.

After a few seconds:
"I guess if they can see right through me, there's no point in wearing this disguise anymore..."

I deactivate Mask of Many Faces. What remains is a girl in her late teens with golden hair and blue eyes. She has a white witch's hat, as well as a shirt and skirt of the same color. She has typical riding boots (probably for her broom).

"Wait, wasn't there... One more of us than there is now?"

 

I don't seem to care about the man I never knew.
I approach the dark clouds to touch one.

 

As you approach the remains, the waters begin to move slightly and sprinkles of rain begin falling. The arm that appears to be yours looks like it shouldn't even exist, its surface is indistinguishable from its inner mass and is just generally difficult to look at without being confused, uncomfortable. A plane of stars and specks of darkness plague the twitching appendage.

The closer you get to the body, the more the area begins to react, becoming as it was before Stay perished. The "arm" that is attached to Stay's shoulder twitches violently. It appears as if it's trying to detach itself, pulling away from your direction.

Stay's arm with the false Nux's gauntlet floats up from the waters beside it. It shares a similar appearance to the projection of Ordon's.

Coming closer, the dark clouds become.. excited? Faces begin to form in them, speaking and breathing in unintelligible whispers. Then hands, arms, shoulders. They reach out as you approach. They draw you in. A whole circular area around where you come closest form these things that are eager to feel you.

 

I reach out and try to grab "my" arm.

 

I punch one.

 

As you come even closer (nearing 5 feet away from the arm), it begins to rip the flesh of the body's shoulder trying to pull away from you. It clearly doesn't want you near it. Your hand begins to burn when your fingers are close. Take 1 necrotic damage.
The gauntlet of the false Nux, however, pulls towards you from the murky water.
Do you still want to grab "your" arm?

As you punch one of the spiritless things, it scatters and dissipates into the air. The rest of the cloud bodies back away, their faces visibly afraid. This opens up a hole in the wall, revealing that there's nothing but space on the outside. Just stars, galaxy formations in the distance, and an endless fall. Water now flows down into the abyss through that opening.

 

I punch the rest of their ugly faces.

 

No, I try to grab "Nux's" arm instead.

 

I look on from a distance in mild horror.

I'm... Going to roll religion to see if this looks like one of the completely innocent divine rituals that aren't to an oblivion god that I saw my father perform...
Religion: Does a 5 pass?

 

You punch as many as you can before the entire dome eventually scatters. It’s nothing but space out there. The water on the platform you’re standing on flows down around it but the depth of it doesn’t seem to change. It falls endlessly. The farther the cloud figures fly out, the more defined they become. Although still indistinguishable from each other, their anatomy is clearer. They float around like dead bodies suspended in midair, not interested in you anymore.

 

"M-maybe we should leave before things get... Weirder... I guess a couple of us have some things to explain..."

 

You grab the gauntlet; rather, it grabs you. It feels entirely alien. Its texture is inconsistent throughout like wood, or metal, or slime? as it wraps, scratches, cuts, stretches, forms around your own arm. It looks like a large wave with the same appearance as the sky of nothingness above as it spirals up your arm, latching onto you as if the gauntlet was yours to begin with. It bubbles and fizzes soothingly adapting to its new place on your arm and hand.

This doesn’t seem like anything your father has done, but the spacestuff the sky and the false body parts are made of is familiar.. like you’ve seen your father carry items with the odd consistency.

 

I'll assume this goes on my left arm so that it doesn't clash with my mechanical right arm.

 

Realizing the possible mutations/corruptions/other undesirable effects that could come of this:

"Get that thing off your arm. Now."

 

Yes, and it shouldn’t impair any movement or actions either. It can be disabled later too for social interactions’ sake.
