I think it's indeed a realm, accessed by a portal of some sort, since Grian stated that Dern itself is not considered a Province, but should still be treated as one.

 

I agree on that, I think there are two portals, the one on Paradise Island in Fanstastic Voyage, and the crystal in the abandoned mines

I don't really think there's any ties with Rymek seeing as there's a mountain surrounding it

RtD and Dern are two different things

Dern is literally the realm of shadow. It isn’t even a province, but should be thought of as one.

Road to Dern is a preluding area to Dern. It’s been confirmed thousands of times that the black box is RtD, mostly because it’s too small to be a major province (it’s oppositional province, Gavel, is fucking massive.)

It’s been confirmed by Salted too that this new update is “Road to Dern”, not Dern. Why would he show Dern stuff in a teaser for an update that ISNT Dern?

The corruption is what happens when the light realm and dark realm interact

 

So do you think that Dern will have no human/villager cities then? It makes sense since Dern might be considered “the true dark realm where nobody has gone before.” This will be an interesting twist since we are used to safeguarding cities against corruption, but now we will cause the corruption by going into Dern. Btw, what level cap do you think Dern will start at? 100 maybe?

 

There won't be a lot of humans and villagers, there will enderman type mobs we won't cause corruption cause we aren't from the light realm

 

Oh ok that makes sense. What classifies has the light realm then? Like fairies and stuff? Also, do you think they make a light realm area eventually since they’re probably making Dern.

 

It's when the realms themselves touch, and you can already go into the light realm

 

Hope 1.19 update fixes a lot bugs, and add Qol changes like not spawning in ternaves when dying in a quest.

EDIT: now that I think about it arent you supposed to spawn at the entrance whenever you die there. i always seem to respawn at lusuco. weird.

 

Yeah, I think you are. I died doing CLS and spawned at the entrance.

 

I think the bug in CIB happens whenever you die in the diamond token room you respawn at lusuco. sadly thats not the only time you die in lusuco.

 

It also happens in the gold token room (the first one) when you do /kill
