Althiaos is still abnormally silent and keeps his head faced downwards he does hoevet pat kyelas on tje baxk trying to comfort him

 

"For the record, Quentin Coldwater was a loyal cultist of Orcus. I regret his death nonetheless."

"Yes, I cannot be surprised that this matter comes up. I cannot answer for the deeds that were concealed from me. Regardless, sir, I am aware that some in my company have done things I would in other cases consider reprehensible. On several occasions, we have nearly dissolved over the moral conflicts within our group. I am aware too, sir, that our actions, direct and otherwise, have touched many lives, and often for the worst. The destruction of Seneca is among the deepest regrets of my life. We were arrogant and did not understand the consequences of our action, and so we followed the guidance of the wizard Kyleas mentioned without question."

"You may question, then, sir, why I remain with this party, knowing it to be so prone to acts of reckless destruction and harboring criminals, and still claim my good name as a cleric. My answer, sir, is that, meaning no disrespect... there is simply no room for such qualms in my heart."

"Yet, your heart is hardened. The darkness of these lands have effected your personally, and vengeful thoughts only add to the madness. You say your heart has no place for sentiment over those who have died, only to save the people who would be swept away by the plague of death. But, can you even see what you are still fighting for? Or is it just bloodlust mistaken for a holy war?"

"I simply ask you, you wish to save the people from the plague of undeath, but by confronting the problem at every turn, have you turned a blind eye to those who you meant to save?"

 

Heat's head raises after hearing the entirety of this speech, his eyes shifting from a dim to bright red. (If Erevan looks back at all) He smiles at him, clearly inspired and hopeful.

"Several of the party became trapped by wards on the city that prevented extraplanar creatures from leaving. We found a wizard who used a deck of cards to break the wards, somehow, but we hadn't considered the consequences of completely shutting down the wards. The city was imprisoning a large number of fiends and other extraplanar monsters that broke loose and decimated the city, all because we didn't think things through."
