Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Large vibrant and colourful buildings line the winding streets, heading toward an incredibly bright and large palace that seems to gaze over the city below. Taverns, clothing and fabric shops, market stalls and jewelry shops all seem to be commonplace among the various other shops along the streets. Many light creatures that seem to have changed their appearance to human seem to revert to their bright white forms as Lux approaches, and forest guardians quietly whisper about Gaia and her counterpart.

The trio eventually arrive at a large fountain in front of a church with a symbol resembling the sun on it, presumably for Lux. Forest guardians seem to be carved into the fountain, their notched arrows spraying water from their tips. Gold, silver and bronze coins shimmer beneath the clear water of the fountain, covering up colourful tiles that seem to form a mosaic on the bottom of the fountain.

 

“This seems... far more peaceful than the Realm of Darkness.” Gaia comments, walking along. “A different sort of beauty, but a sight to behold nonetheless.”

 

"Yes. I'm confident they do. I just wonder what she would be so angry about."

 

She just seems to be really angry lately. I don't care what her reason is, she doesn't need to take it out on us. Still... I hate this storm, but we shouldn't keep the Leviathan waiting.

 

"Yeah. Let's get going and hope she'll calm down soon."

 

"Tenebrae's children are a lot more...violent than mine. Though I've watched over mine a little more closely to make sure they stay on the right track." Lux comments happily.

A priest exits the church with a crowd of murmuring light creatures behind him. He looks doubtful at first, but upon seeing Lux, immediately drops to his knees and bows to him. Out of the corner of Gaia's counterpart's eye, she can see a forest guardian that isn't bowing to Lux or Gaia. They seem to be healing themselves after tripping and falling, likely in a rush to see the gods.

 

“Your children definitely appear more... civilized, in a traditional sense of the word.” Gaia says, keeping an eye on the guardian and looking over their soul.

As you head out to the beach, the Leviathan rests on the sand.
“Anne seems pretty shaken with your breakup. Any idea why she fled to the mainland?” He asks, curious as he lowers his neck.

 

Their soul seems to be true to their form, and she can sense a strong tie to Gaia herself.

"They did have some...issues with technological advancement, but they were willing to stop after I told them my concerns about such weaponry." Lux says, leading the group further through the city.

The trio end up in a residential part of the city, houses painted with various murals on their walls and children chasing each other through the streets; many of their parents unknowing of the gods arrival in their city. Children are called in as the gods are seen walking past, though a brave - or perhaps just naive - forest guardian child runs up to Gaia with a large daisy.

"I...um...grew this big flower for you!" The child says happily, holding up the daisy to Gaia. An older forest guardian, likely their mother, looks horrified at what's happening.

"Aww, well isn't that kind of you! It's beautiful, thank you." Gaia says appreciatively, accepting the daisy and smiling. The child giggles happily before running back to their mother, who breathes a sigh of relief and smiles at Gaia.

 

“Is it normal for your children to hurt themselves trying to get a glimpse of you?” Gaia telepathically asks her counterpart.

“Keep Idhaenna’s interactions here to a minimum, then. She’s... far too absorbed with her technology than what’s good for anyone.” Gaia sighs, seeming amused by the young guardian’s childish innocence.

 

"What do you mean?" Gaia asks, confused.

"I've got enough technological issues with Praecantatia and Temporus working together. As long as it stays out of the hands of my children though, I'm fine with it." Lux comments.

 

"How come everyone I meet knows about this?!"

"And no, I don't know why she fled to the mainland. But I need to get there aswell."

 

“Yeah, he’s... something, alright.”

 

"Earlier, a forest guardian was too busy healing themselves stumbling around to get a look at us to bow."

"Considering Idhaenna's only been to this reality once, I'm assuming things are still okay."

"If you don't mind me askin, why'd you put up with him if he just leaves you all the messes?"

"You've talked mostly to people who helped with the wedding, or Anne also has been running her mouth while crying." The Leviathan sighs. "Regardless, we don't have long until the storm hits the mainland coast. Let's go."

 

Without another word, I climb on the Leviathan's back.

 

He starts swimming off towards the coast much faster than usual, forcing you to cling to his fin.
"Sorry about the rush, I assume you're trying to trail Anne and don't want there to be too much distance between you. If not, I can slow down, but the villages might already be evacuating."

 

"Oh, I suppose that can happen, yes. Though I don't particularly like it when my children put seeing me over their own safety." Gaia responds.

"Things have calmed down a lot here, you and your gods presence haven't done anything to disrupt us; I fear we may have done the opposite though." Lux says, leading the group towards the palace; though it still seems like quite the trek.

 

"Perhaps we should go back to them later? I don't want them going quite this length to try and get a glimpse of us."

"I'd be lying if I said you kept your hands out of our affairs, but to varying degrees some of us do owe you our lives." Gaia says, bowing towards Lux again.

 

"If you can remember who they were, I suppose we could." Gaia responds, shrugging.

"It seems fate somehow connected our realities, but it doesn't mean I or anyone else can act in a disruptive manner in your already disrupted realm. Hopefully we'll be able to share some of our peace with your reality, though the presence of your 'Hive Master' is a constant concern should he ever reach our reality somehow." Lux explains.

Gaia rolls her eyes, opening and closing her hand in a 'yap yap yap' motion behind Lux's back.

 

Gaia shares the location of the guardian's soul with her counterpart.

"I wouldn't worry much about that. Just because Petunia can do things here doesn't mean he can. Furthermore, I think Idhaenna stopped sitting back and struck out at his forces... finally. As much as I hate her methods, any help is welcome at this point."

 

"What is the source of this storm? Is it that Ziz again?"
