Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It winds up sliding somewhat easily across the floor, the gorgon standing back once you get the door open wide enough to get out.
“The storm hasn’t let up, but the Leviathan’s waiting.”

“Apparently she was feeding respectfully, but she didn’t explain what that meant.” Gaia shrugs.

 

"Well...I trust Mortius knows best." Gaia says, trying to reassure herself.

 

“Have things been going sour here?” Gaia asks, worried.

 

"No, not at all. An undead wandering about is just a little...concerning. He helped me with the creation of Death Guardians, though they don't really become undead." Gaia says.

 

"It's still a bit of a walk there, so maybe the storm will calm down before we get there."

"Whether it does or not, let's go."
And I'll grab my stuff and start walking down the stairs and eventually outside.

 

“If you find a way to break her curse, she’s steadfast in her loyalty. I wouldn’t be surprised if she devotes the rest of her life serving whoever manages it.”

The snake on the lamp looks at you as you leave.

Okay, no more snakes please. Enough snakes for one day.

It’s raining pretty hard, though...

 

"I suppose I could try if she wanted me to, but I don't want to be served by her if I do. My children aren't servants." Gaia says happily.

 

"Someone as old as she is would be awfully stubborn, I don't know if you could easily shake her." Gaia chuckles. "She is a bit too eager to find an excuse back into the war ravaging her home, though. You could say she doesn't fear death, or much of anything, really."

 

"You don't have any sort of protection from the rain, do you?"

 

"That's probably why she got on so well with Mortius then." Gaia says happily.

 

“Afraid not. It sort of just rolls off me.” The gorgon says, shaking her head.

My fur would be warmer until we get soaked, if you need me to be out for a bit.

“Something about she was honoring the dead she fed off.” Gaia shrugs. “Regardless, one good relation out of ten isn’t too bad considering the circumstances. Though, didn’t Amethyst make a dress that was a tribute to you?”

 

"Oh, that was her? I just remember an incredibly talented seamstress making a beautiful dress for me." Gaia says, suddenly remembering the dress.

 

"Right. Let's try to stay out of the open clearings then."

 

“Yes. Can you believe this is the first time she hasn’t been a criminal? She couldn’t make ends meet at home, and that became even harder when she was cursed to... never mind. I’m glad the realm of light has offered her a chance of being part of a society, she seems so happy nowadays.”

“You might be able to snag an umbrella off the lost items shelf at a bar. Your fox friend chose a pretty bad day to run off, though.”

Maybe the leviathan can shield us from the rain somehow?

 

"I should visit her again some time. Many of my forest children enjoy Lux's realm too." Gaia says happily.

 

"I don't know. Hope she'll be fine in this weather."

 

"I guess I don't."
I shrug.

 

“Would it be much trouble to ask to accompany you? I don’t recall ever having been there.”

“If it makes you feel any better, his hitmen will just pretend you don’t exist.”

She gets hurt by rain, right...?

 

"Yes, she does." I say to myself.

 

"Not at all! Though don't you want to stay here?" Gaia asks, sounding a little hurt.
