Not much, given Wren isn't all that familiar with Coldenic geography. Although, it is probably smaller than Varla.

Going into the tavern, Wren sees there are two tables with people eating and joking on them, in a contrast with The Dark Willow. A young-looking woman approaches the cloaked boy.
"What can I interest you today, mister?" She asks with a smile, holding a pen and paper notes in her hand.

 

"Are there any rooms open?"

She scribbles something in the paper and mumbles for a few moments before turning to Wren, although she doesn't look at him.
"For the night or to sleep?" The woman asks, still looking at the paper.

The market is not the best place to look for magical and cultural items, and so Darx finds none. A corridor with drinks and foods of many kinds tempts the silver-haired boy into it, although most are alcoholic. A bakery stands at the end it.

As Fraise tore the notes scrap out of the book, he was pleasantly surprised as to how the story was written. He never thought about past kingdom conflicts before, so the thought intrigued him. Passing over The Ikar: Volume 2 to Deton, Fraise picked up The Ikar: Volume 3 and opened to another random page as he spoke,
"Perhaps you should fancy yourself with some reading, Deton. I think I should do bedtime reading more often."

The man in charge of the bakery points to a sign when Darx approaches. It reads;

As Fraise flips through the book, he reaches a rather small and peculiar tale. Labeled Tale 50, The Overseer, by Sahk.
Weirdly so, in contrast with the other tales, The Overseer is barely two pages long, with no pictures. As the Aatsuran looks at it more attentively, he finds it is in fact, a transcription of a letter.

Mother, the war seems to have no clear end. Last night, the battle waged on from dusk to dawn. It is still not over. I had to treat a few men and women with varied amounts of wounds. One came to me with his arm and leg partially torn off. I did my best, but he didn't make it.
Lately, it has just been getting worse and worse. Thunder strikes kill off our archers on the high ground, and the very earth swallows our men. I am yet to see a day with no casualties. Somehow, the king just keeps sending more and more troops, even though most don't last more than three weeks. That isn't the most unsettling thing as of late though.
In the past two weeks, several soldiers have reported seeing a shadow on top of towers or sitting on impossible places. It just... observes. Whenever someone tries to shoot at it, the arrow just goes through it, and the shadow disappears. Some of the wounded say it has been even in their dreams, although most that say so have a burning fever.

Mother, I don't know how long I will last in this hell. I just hope this all ends soon, and that whatever that thing is, that it is not real. The wounded have said horrible things in their sleep. For now, it just oversees the battlefield.

A shiver runs through the Aatsuran's spine as he finishes the short tale. With a loud sound, a door closes in the upper floor. Closing the book and heading over to the table Deton seats at, Fraise waits for the woman to come downstairs. Although she clearly did a lot of work upstairs, she does not seem tired in the slightest. Her expression still shows no emotion.

"Your room is ready. I will prepare dinner for myself. Feel free to eat some later." She says, and without waiting for a response, Saraha enters the same room from before. Quickly peeking out of the door, Deton estimates is around 18:00.

 

Shrug.

"Either way, for the night."

The woman nods and writes something down on the block of notes. "So, can I interest you in a meal before you go into your room?" As the woman asks Wren, the boy looks around the room. From the scent of spices and the looks of the soup, the food here seems to be pretty good.

Ignoring the monk's seemingly normal chest, Sate mumbles for a solid minute before getting up and going behind the counter. Reaching towards an unseen item, the bartender brings out a notebook and a pen. Methodically, he begins writing down something in it.

Closing up the now-rags of his shirt, Vitiate sat down again and calmed himself. The lack of magic running in his system made him doubt the origins of the Serpent and suches.

Finally raising his head from the book, Sate walks hurriedly towards the door, where he peeks outside and goes back in. After what the Illiaren can only guess are calculations, the bartender puts his pen and notebook down. "If the Serpent is yet again poking people with its heralds, then it's probably time." Turning to the monk, the man had a poker face on. "Have you ever been to Opladyl? Be truthful, don't give me a 'I've been everywhere and nowhere'."
Sate seems to have no patience to hear another speech.

As Deton reaches the door, the man gives the room a quick scan with his eyes. Two beds, one on each side of the walls of this rather small room, are neatly put together with blankets and pillows. A dust-covered window gives the environment a bit of natural light, with a view to a small wood.

There are two nightstands and two chairs, one for each bed.

Promptly shoving the loaves on his backpack, Darx pays the baker and takes the ticket to the cashier before leaving. With enough food for a few days, the silver-haired boy felt prepared to whatever it was to come.

Looking down to the street to the west, the boy watched the sunset. An inn would be a good idea.

The man shakes his head and sighs deeply. "I thought not. It's an uninteresting place for those who do not know what it houses." Flipping through the pages of his notebook, Sate opens on a page with an intricate map of Opladyl. Upon looking at it for a few moments, Vitiate takes notice of the countless notes litter the pages, with arrows pointing out various places in the nation.

Taking the notebook back, the bartender says. "I would say it is in your best interest to head towards the Mist. What you seek is in its confines, and what seeks you will be there as well." Closing the book with a loud 'pop', Sate sighs once again, letting his shoulders curve under the same unseen weight. "Perhaps you can get that off as well, I don't know."
He makes a vague gesture towards the inhibiting bracelet.
