Downstairs we go, then?

“Seeya.” Apocalypse waves, blowing Abigail a kiss on her way out.

 

Abigail doesn't respond, and Cel goes back to tapping away and thinking.

 

“What weapons do you have?”

 

“My two chakram and, like, ten daggers in my cloak.”

Meanwhile, elsewhere...

Sgavrinn notices the crowds dying down a bit, and then tries to make his way towards Artemis.

 

"Can I check?"

 

"Let's go."
I'm going to take a look around the house.

 

Artemis doesn't appear to be past the crowds, though he finds Shadow Stephanie looking exhausted.

 

Scurn holds his cloak wide open, revealing what looks to be closer to forty daggers woven in part with the fabric’s pattern.
“If it makes you feel any better, he literally never learned to count.” Levi laughs.
“Nobody’s taken more than half of these to die, I don’t need to count.”

As you head downstairs, you notice another snake curled up around the probably-warm lamp overhead.

I’m having second thoughts right the hell now.

Upon arrival, he looks a bit confused before slowly approaching Shadow Stephanie anyways, humming quietly.

 

Shadow Stephanie glances down, noticing Sgavrinn.

"Oh, hey. Artemis isn't here if you're looking for her, she's with Praecantatia." Shadow Stephanie explains, lacking the energy to change her way of speaking to Sgavrinn.

 

He nuzzles her leg, seeming a bit unsure of what to do with Artemis being not-present.

 

Shadow Stephanie smiles weakly, petting Sgavrinn on the head gently.

 

"Oh. Come on..."

 

I frisk him to see if he's got any more.
"Just say that it's forty daggers from here on out."

 

He has another sixty, though they're mostly better concealed and they're all throwing knives. They're woven in to look like nothing more than slightly thicker clothing, but even the most basic form of metal detection would go haywire off of him.

"Forty? Is that like four tens?"
"You are a goddamn idiot."
"You don't know how to count either."
"Shut up!"

Sgavrinn rubs up against her leg like an oversized cat, nuzzling her hand and licking her wrist as he hums.

How many fucking snakes are there? Like, seriously, she has snakes on her head, snakes on a lamp, snakes in her room, snakes in a box... Where aren't there snakes?!

 

"I guess you miss her, huh?" Shadow Stephanie asks, smiling a little more.

 

He stops nuzzling Shadow Stephanie long enough to nod, but only just.

 

Shadow Stephanie sighs.

"Nothing's calm anymore..." Shadow Stephanie says, watching the now much thinner crowds pass by.

 

“Okay, say ‘forty’ if you want to slightly lie, and ‘one hundred’ if you want to tell the truth. That’s four tens and ten tens, respectively.”

 

"I just hope that one isn't dangerous."
