"As the young man said, until you reach the tavern. And I think a small squadron is enough, so four or five." She squints at Deton. "Plan on running off?"
Raalehn stretches her back. "Nah. Just kidding."

 

"Don't worry just a few pickpockets on the way, maybe rob a bank if there are less guards... Alright then what's my lunch budget?"

Raalehn laughs awkwardly before turning to a serious expression. "Keep joking around will you."

Clapping her hands, the commander calls a squadron into the room. "I'm done for now, those answers will come later." The woman turns to her subordinates. "Take them to that tavern near here, the uhm, The Dark Willow I think it was."
The guards give her a 'Yes ma'am' and begin walking outside the door. Looking over to the group, the woman intertwined her fingers. "So no more questions?" Deton raises a finger. "Actually, I have one more..." Raalehn ignores the man. "So great, I'll hopefully not see you around!" She says as she leaves the room.

Once reaching The Dark Willow, the guards left quickly. Fraise put a hand on his cheek and shook his head softly. "What a shame, I thought they would join us...~" Deton put a hand on his friend's shoulder and brought him inside the establishment. Upon entering the gloomily lighted room, the group saw a small feast had been prepared; Soup, a small roast turkey, pasta and Plinnáu wine. The bartender gently brushed the counter with a used rag, trying to polish the already shining wood. "A gentleman came here and asked for lunch to be prepared for you. Feel free to eat." He says simply with a calm smile.

Having a closer look at the table, Fraise sees a little paper with a message on it. 'Don't cause trouble again. Don't mistake kindness for weakness. - Raalehn'. The Aatsuran pockets the paper before anyone else is able to see it.

Whistling, both Darx and Wren sat on the table, serving themselves a bit of the tender meat and wine. Before Darx can get his lips on the glass though, Deton takes it from his hand. "You're too young." He says simply, putting the glass on near his own plate. Sitting on opposite sides of the table, Vitiate and Fraise sported completely opposite expressions. The spirit seemed to be disgusted and filled with a silent hatred, while the Aatsuran happily filled his glass with wine and swayed it around. "All part of the plan." He said, smiling at the favourable turn of events.

 

“Ok, whats the problem?”

 

"Am I the grandpa of the group now? Never pay when you can cook yourself. " At the end of the table, I do my best to materialize a small goblet in front of me, filled with water that swirls itself. On a simplistic ceramic plate is a roast trout conjured from nothing.

I pass my hand through the goblet, and poke through the fish.

"Of course, your eyes can deceive you. They often do." I waive the mirage of food I summoned, revealing it to be a minor illusion.
"See you around, kids." I say, and the final illusion disappears - it is now obvious that rather than having actually been present, my familiar in the Inn was merely an illusion. I am actually just outside the tavern.

 

Eat quickly. What's on the table that's non perishable?

As the spirit struggles with summoning the water goblet, the bartender appears from behind the counter, bringing a glass of water that he puts near the monk. Before Vitiate is able to look up at the man, he is already back in his usual position.

Brushing a finger over the tight bracelet on his left hand, Vitiate remembers the words of the guards. 'You won't be able to take that off by anyone except other members of the Coldemnic Guard.' They said. 'It's to inhibit your usage of magic. For now, you'll be walking around like everyone.' Getting up from the table, the monk walked over to the door of the tavern, taking in the subtly warm air heated by the midday sun.

For a while, at least, magic was out of question.

The wine, but Wren has a suspicion they won't let him take it all.

 

Darx eats his food, and takes some of the bread to eat later in his food pouch in his bag.

 

"How the hell do I get this thing off? So... limiting. So... insulting."
I rub my wrist, sore from the brace.

Is it that I can't remove it for legal reasons? Or is it warded in some way? Like physically/magically impossible to remove?

I don't know, but I hope so. It'd be cool to have a bunch of people as my CCTVs

 

Both, but Vitiate only cares for the second I suppose. It's nigh impossible to take off without a commander's 'key'.

 

Fraise enjoyed the lovely feast that Raalehn summoned, grateful that he took heed of the small message left by the commander. He pieced together from their conversation that she wasn't keen on letting drama wreck havoc through Varla. Nonetheless, Fraise ate to his heart's content. His mind was still slightly on Raalehn's comment on how the guard are already investigating, but he decided not to pry. The last thing he wanted was to create his own drama. Fraise decided to save his conversations and fun for those around him till a later time. For now, he just focused on his meal.

 

Is the commander's key a physical object or metaphorical, i.e. the presence or consent of the commander.?

I'll start eating enjoying the tase even more knowing that I don't have to pay.
