To give myself more time, I revert back to my normal form, and summon an impenetrable barrier to surround me.

Grasping my pike, I say "Your striving is insigificant," I raise the pike, "Let your death be the same."

 

Oh, so you're restating my suprise from the earlier scene.

Is everyone (exepect the players and the squadron) out of the area yet? If not, usher/help/carry them out.

 

As the monk tries to summon an air shield to protect himself, his slow thought and concentration make him unable to do so. Grasping the pike and preparing for the attack of the commander, the spirit begins spasming, as if his non existent muscles decided to betray him.

Meanwhile, the commander keeps on walking towards Vitiate, grabbing one of the pike's end and using her spear to break it in half. "I said. I am done."

Spinning her spear and putting it into one of the cracks in the ground made by the figure's swords, the woman landed a solid punch on the spirit. His formerly ethereal form, in contact with her fist seemed to materialize into the physical realm, giving Vitiate a sensation he wasn't familiar with for a long time; Pain. She probably dislocated his jaw.

While the spirit was distracted by the pain and exhausted mind, the commander took her spear out of the ground, using it to knock the spirits sword's away.

"You're coming with me after all this." She says.

Most people have already evacuated the vicinity, but Wren spot a single poor, unfortunate soul laying on the ground, apparently hit by what seems to be a dozen of glass shards. Approaching them, it becomes clear that they are indeed a kid, all bloodied and cut. Doesn't seem like they will die, but they shouldn't stay outside in the rain and cold.

 

Well lets head over and pick him up, before moving towards where everyone else went.
Use my control over water to stop the rain from touching him.

 

Wren picks up the kid in his arms, the rain not touching their face anymore. Looking around, he sees a woman who seems worried sick. Perhaps it's their mom?

 

Well its another person so-

The moment the woman sees Wren, she rushes over. Looking at the boy with a worried look on her face, then looking at the man, she extended her arms and said a simple 'Thank you'.
Handing the kid over to what one can only assume to be their mom, Wren turns away, hearing the woman rush down the street.

 

"Who are you?"

I Transcend again, phasing directly downwards into the maze of a sewer system below the streets, running through the complex series of pipes, tubes, and pathways, until I am far away on the other end of town, hundreds of feet underground.

 

I follow after Wren.

"We should get out of here... whatever your name is. My name is Darx but lets leave."

While Vitiate and the commander is fighting I'll give the commander a scan with my particularity

 

After regaining my strength underground, I attempt to force myself into the mind of a guard behind the Commander.

They're after you.

They all hate you.

I plant these thoughts in his head,

He's gossiping about you.

I play a vision of another nearby guard in his head along with that seed of doubt.

She hates you.

I play another vision of a nearby guard in his mind.

He's plotting to kill you.

I play a vision of a third guard in his mind
I turn his attention to the commander,

She's seducing your husband.

They hate you.
They're trying to kill you.
Traitors. Liars. Murderers. Thieves.
Destroy them. Kill them all. It's you or them.

I force this paranoia into every other guard except the commander until they are merely puppets. Now hollow receptacles, I remove my consciousness from my body, and split it like horcruxes between them all. As my new puppets, I have them each quietly unsheathe their swords or daggers and wait for the right time to strike.

After some anticipation, I have them all break out into a riot, each of them stabbing the unsuspecting captain in the back multiple times before she can react.

IDK, Essence Transfer? Mind buffoonery? Consciousness fuckery?

Holy flip, I'm even more scared of combat now. xd

 

Attempting to transcend the physical realm, Vitiate finds himself unable to do so, his magic exhausted way beyond his limits. The presence of the commander probably had something to do with that as well. Perceiving the spirit's attempt to flee, the woman points her spear towards the monk's chest, slightly pressing it against his recently materialized flesh.
"What did I say?" She asks, in an enragingly condescending tone. "Are you dumb? You're not leaving old man." She presses the spear enough to go through his robes, a small amount of blood trickling down his chest.

The headache has just barely become bearable, but Deton decides to use it once more. The commander's name is Raalehn Klauss, originally from Aatsura. She's 29, and obviously the captain of Varla's Guard.
Deton probably won't be able to use his ability for the rest of the day.

In theory, this could happen if it were a Particularity, but it had to be limited to only one thing at a time; Mind control is something that doesn't exist in the world, even regarding Particularities. Deton's other use of his Manipulation is the closest there is to a mind control, and even then, there are drawbacks and the suches.
As of right now, magic is really limited in the world, with the main types being those described in the main thread. Even the ones that have the most liberty, Particularities, still have limitations and severe drawbacks save a few exceptions, like Darx's. Being able to 'transcend' to use more powerful magic is already very powerful when it comes to those types of magic, and even then, it shouldn't be abused. Being able to multiply items without high tier Runic knowledge, split your mind in several consciousnesses, distort reality, and other thingamabobs are not something that people in the world can do, much less a player. According to the religion and mythos tab in the original post already point to what is the power level of God's, and it really doesn't get near manipulation of reality in and of itself. Just a warning/info thing.

 

Well lets go up to a guard.
Flick a bit of the rain out of my hair as we walk.
When I approach within earshot (but not spear range) ask, "Hey, who is she?"

 

I follow reluctantly. Darx does not have enoguh courage to pull him away.

 

One of the guards seems to be in extreme pain, due to his hand being coated with slightly molten metal, which seems to have cooled off but is now fused to his flesh. The other one is a bit dizzy, due to the loss of blood from the glass shard, so he probably won't talk to Wren anytime soon.
There's no sign of the other guards.
