Questioning and wandering around town, it takes you about an hour to find a little church near the outsides of the town.

 

Kewl. Description of church?
Are the doors open and welcoming?
Any church people standing around?

 

It's a small church. But it fills its purpose in this town.
One door is open.
Furthermore, there are no church people outside.

 

Hm.
Knock lightly on the open door and go in.

 

No response on the knock, but you head in nonetheless.
There is a big open space, like most churches, filled with benches. There are a handful of people sitting scattered across the benches with their head towards the ground. They seem to be praying.

There are 5 statues standing on an altar at the far back of the room.

 

Are these the same guards as before?

“What’s this?”
I ask as I approach.

 

Other guards, same symbol on their shields.

"Hmm? Oh, just.. military business. Bandit problem has been growing recently, we're trying to figure some things out."

 

What are the statues of?

 

There are 5. They look like holy symbols for deities, none being from yours.
1: a silver anvil with a burning flame on top.
2: a blue shield with a silver dragonhead on it.
3: a rose surrounded by grains.
4: a silver, right handed fist formed into a fist.
5: a ravenhead looking to the right.

You can make a religion check on each of these. You would have advantage on the 3rd one if you do.

 

“Where? How so?”

"We've only been tracking the areas surrounding Huklemon, but we assume the same goes for the other towns. We don't know what caused this growth, but it is becoming a problem."

"Which is why we hand out gold to anyone able to catch those bandits, so that we can question them, see where their hideouts and such are." The other guard says.

"We prefer them alive, because we want to get information out of them." Guard 1 says.

I walk around and try to find the adventurers that haven't left the town yet.

Chauntea herself was seen as being the embodiment of all things agrarian or agriculture. She was a goddess of agriculture, plants cultivated by humans, farmers, gardeners, and summer.
