Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Kiin hugs Katie from behind, worried.
“We’ll find ‘em. We have an armada, remember? They can’t beat us. We can get them back, and we have that fancy map as well.”


“What do you mean? I’ve been repairing my dresses and watching Kiin.” Rose asks, confused.

 

The air around Katie cools rapidly, ice beginning to form at Katie's feet as she struggles to handle her emotions.


Abigail seems disappointed. She appears to go to say something, before stopping herself.

"Never mind." Abigail says.

 

Kiin just hugs Katie tighter, not sure what else to do.

“Admiral, how many ships should we prepare?”
“Get us a look at the map. If there’s conflict anywhere, rust anything mostly metallic.”
“Yes, Admiral.”
The other draconian leaves.


“You’re a terrible liar. What is it, something to do with Chroma again?” Rose asks, annoyed but confused.

 

Kiin feels ice spread onto her hands, Katie unmoving.


"Oh, him? I forgot about that asshole. Honestly, his dumbass attempts at trying to get some stupid bird can't succeed now." Abigail says casually.

 

Kiin’s touch turns colder than the ice around Katie, and Katie starts to feel her stress and sadness siphon out of her.


“He has bigger problems than the bird. Atavul’s just strict and demanding.” Rose shrugs.

 

"Emerald likely doesn't have the time."

 

Katie gets up, before blasting herself out of her damaged home and into the ocean with a jet of water from below.


"I'm sure he just loves being bossed around like that though." Abigail says with some slight vitriol.

 

Kiin gets up and runs after her, diving into the water and doing her best to catch up with Katie.


“Just as much as you would. Pretty much everyone is irritated by Atavul.”

“And I’d be a waste of Xlentia’s time, which leaves... people I don’t know.”

 

Katie cuts through the water like a knife, hitting the surface and skimming ashore, heading towards Abigail.


"I think people are mainly just irritated by the Hive Master." Abigail says, before glancing towards the water.

Katie skims across the water before pacing along the sand, walking straight up to Abigail and grabbing her arm.

"I want to go back now." Katie says quietly, distraught.

"Katie, is everythi-" Abigail says sympathetically, before being cut off.

"Just take me back to the realm of shadows." Katie says quietly.

 

“Let me come too!” Kiin protests, leaping out of the water.

“It’s probably about her parents likely getting captured again.” Rose tells Abigail telepathically.

 

Abigail nods, taking Katie back through the portal.

 

Kiin slips through the portal as well, practically clinging to Katie.

 

Abigail grabs Kiin and takes her off of Katie as she walks over to Tenebrae. Tenebrae glances down at Katie from the throne as she approaches.

"Please don't do something stupid." Abigail says mostly to herself as she watches Katie, holding back Kiin.

 

Kiin resorts to clinging to Abigail.
“She’s just gonna ask for help, right? Why couldn’t we?” She asks quietly, practically anchoring one of Abigail’s legs to the ground.

 

"Because I think Katie needs something a little more...one to one." Abigail says, sounding concerned.

Katie seems to vanish into the darkness surrounding Tenebrae, though what can faintly be seen of her is lifted up to Tenebrae's head height; Tenebrae conversing quietly with Katie as to not be overheard or deafen her.

 

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Kiin asks, keeping a close eye on her sister.

 

"Well, your parents aren't really around often, so speaking to a goddess is probably the next best thing." Abigail shrugs.

Katie seems to be engulfed in darkness, though it doesn't carry any hostile air to it.

 

“Isn’t Lady Gaia the guardian goddess person, though?”
Kiin keeps laser focused, not even blinking.

 

“You don’t know Xlentia.”
I point out.
“She’s probably your best bet, assuming she’s not in the middle of something big.”

 

"I guess, because I don't remember doing it."
