“Heh, Emerald must be exhausted at this point. Still, a touch ironic how the Hive Master now has the gods under his control he didn’t want to control. Is Xlentia in good health, or was she sealed?”

 

“Last I saw her, she was good. And, yes, Emerald’s swamped.”

 

“Sounds like you aren’t exactly working with Idhaenna. Then again, that’s pretty typical of her, I guess. Aside from the Hive Master’s iron grip over Atavul’s domain, sounds like he doesn’t have much left.”

 

"You don't need to make the house super clean for mum though. She's hard on her crew, but she's not as hard on us!" Katie says cheerily.

 

"I-I... uh... w-well I... it's really bad. Like, really really bad." Kiin says, looking and sounding extremely guilty.

 

"Did humans spill oil on it?" Katie asks, concerned.

 

“N-no, but I can’t find the living room.”

 

Katie looks befuddled.

"You...can't find it?" Katie asks.

 

"Atavul's still Atavul."
I point out.

 

Kiin nods guiltily.

“As correct as you are, he can only be in one place.”

 

"How could you lose the living room?" Katie asks, laughing a little, "It's always going to be in the same place!"

 

“That’s a fair point.”

 

“Yeah, b-but I don’t remember where and it’s... uh... part of other rooms now.”

“Plus, he’s an idiot.” Levi adds.
“Well... it would only take one distraction, but he’s not someone we can take lightly.”

 

"Part of other rooms?" Katie asks, amusement turning back to confusion, "Did...some magical being mess up the house?"

"Did Katie's place collapse in or something?" Abigail guesses, equally confused.

 

“Is he controlled or did he just ally with the Hive Master?”

 

Kiin sighs, looking guilty.
“Maybe I should just show you...”

“I don’t know, I do my best to ignore the fact he exists in the first place.”

 

“Sounds like a poor battle strategy.”

 

“I said that too.” Levi complains.
“Oh, shut up. If he’s not where we are, then he can’t do anything about is. If he is where we are, then we’re probably screwed anyways because he enjoys seeing collateral damage.”

 

"Aj bounced on us, we could go," Abigail says, "I think miss god of edginess will be here for a while."

"Show us what's wrong, Kiin." Katie confirms, glancing back from Abigail with a nod.
