“I really like what you’ve done with the place.”
I joke, nodding and pointing around.

 

Kiin glances between Abigail and Katie, a bit uncertain, before looking towards Tenebrae.
"She sorta looks like she was who the Decaying Fang always went off to talk to. I wonder if she knew that assassin."

You... can't remember. You took a nap every time, and you don't know how long you were asleep for.

You wind up pointing to your hammer hanging on a wall hook, your sword leaning against it.
"And we don't need any more renovations, so you leave those there until you're about to head out. Clear?" Scurn asks.
"If you try to kill me from the inside I'll... uh... well, I'm not sure, really. Probably scream?" Levi says, trailing off at the end.

 

"Decaying Fang?" Katie asks, confused.

"You could go ask her if you wanted." Abigail suggests casually, though with a smirk.

 

I hook my hammer up, then see if I can hook my crossbow up as well.
"That'd be a good way to get you out of my vision."
I point out, only slightly threateningly.

 

"I'm gonna be here all day, won't I?" I mumble.

 

There's an empty hook for your crossbow, and another for your quiver if you want to hang that up too.
"I doubt you'd make it too far before something else came along and tried to take a bite out of you... but yeah, that'd work."

Your bestial form still seems to be asleep, so... you don't get a response from anyone.

"It's not like I'm asking for any powers. I don't need any more powers, I have an armada." Kiin shrugs.

 

I hang up the quiver.
"So, why am I here?"
I ask to both Scurn and Levi.

 

"A what?" Abigail asks, a little surprised.

 

"When mum and dad got stolen by the humans, I brought out a few ships to bombard their city to the ground. I have enough ships to take up every ocean." Kiin says, a bit smug.

"You're part of the outside resistance group. We haven't had contact with any other pocket of resistance, so... well, you're a very interesting start to what we hope is a turning point in this war."

 

"How old are you?" Abigail asks, suspicious.

 

"A turning point to what end?"

 

Kiin turns to Katie.
"How old am I?"

"Are you working towards something other than the Hive Master's fall?"

 

"No, I'm asking if you are."

 

"Nope, same thing."

 

"Good. Then what do you need me to do?"
I ask as I reflect on any facial cues that could mean that Scurn's lying.

 

He seems dead serious.
“Nothing. Just figured we could talk a bit. You tell me what happened out there, I tell you what happened in here. See if we could coordinate anything.”

 

"Okay. For one reason or another, we needed to break the ice wall surrounding this place. They got me to do it, I did it through a less-than-elaborate ruse, then we started attacking. I'm not much for mass culling, though, so I tried to stop the kill command, then tried to stop Idhaenna. Then Levi took over and now I'm here."

 

“Were you... like, made a month ago? Or is there anything that happened before then?”

 

"I'm not starting from the beginning. Absolutely not. I would not like to stand here for the next day and a half as I explain to you, in detail, every relevant piece of information that I can think of."

 

"Um...I'm not sure how age translates in your species." Katie says, embarrassed.

"She seems just a little too young to own a fleet capable of razing a human city." Abigail says bluntly.
