Kings Recruit Quest Very Bugged For Returning Player

So as the title suggests, returning player, level 36 archer. I'm guessing a lot changed since I last played, maybe a year or two ago, not entirely sure, but I was forced to do the starter quest again and was unable to skip, now I'm perpetually stuck in the Throne Room. I've tried all the quest fix commands like the game keeps telling me, but each time I do it just says there's an 'error try 'fixstart to fix it', I tried kill twice and lost some stuff doing that.

It seems because I'd already progressed decently far in the quest, the game won't recognise me as being able to start the quest again, seems odd that this wasn't thought of. Any fixes would be appreciated, cheers.

Did you talk to the king of ragni to finish the quest..? I'm assuming you are just trying to leave the throne room and go straight into ragni without completing it.

 

Yes, repeatedly I've tried to talk to him, I've tried /fixquest and /fixstart as the game suggests, neither work and it throws up an error every time I talk to him, or try to leave. I mentioned that in my opening post.

 

Have you tried going to a different world?

 

Yeah, tried four now.

 

What does your questbook say? It's possible you missed an update.

 

Literally just says 'started' and it's asking me repeatedly to talk to the king. It's bugged severely code wise, so I don't think there's anything I myself can do to fix it.

You likely missed a quest book update.

 

How is that possible if I did the whole tutorial and it's telling me to talk to the king when I try and leave?

Nothing, if this is the menu you're talking about.

 

Try using 1.12.2 or a different version

 

Same issue, quest is completely broken.

 

Potentially try doing /skiptutorial?

 

It says I've progressed too far to do that :/

 

Not really sure then, try doing it on a new class.

 

He doesn’t want to start a new class, and abandon his progressed archer. I think you talked to the starter npc and skip tutorial, so you can’t talk to the king because the quest requires you to do sth else. But you can’t leave throne room once you enter. This is why it’s bugged

 

Hey Salted, thank you very much :D I don't recall doing anything different, I spawned in the carriage, everything played through normally like it would have, I had to /kill myself at one point where you cut the tree down, due to me getting stuck in what I assume was a bounding box, but apart from that it seemed fine. It was as I entered the kings room that things went wrong. I have an assassin too I'll try and see if that one is bugged and let you know if anything is different. Thanks again for your help.

It's possible I did not fully complete the main story before 1.8, but I honestly can't remember, sorry.
