The Pokemon Company pushed more SwSh news today, and oh, is it juicy.

First of all, we have Team Yell, this region’s gangstas. This isn’t even subtle. It’s obviously reflecting Twitter users, as shown in this meme:


Next, we have a cross-gen evolution of Linoone, Obstagoon. Just like Wooloo, this represents an issue that’s politically incorrect: furrybait. This Pokemon is too humanoid, and rule 34 artists will have a field day drawing it.

Yeah, pretty dumb name. Team Scream would’ve sounded better. I actually laughed though when I found out that they’re supposed to be a toxic fanbase, because intentional or not, it shows how self-aware Game Freak is

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Memes are political, right? Well, Pokemon revealed Galarian Weezing, which looks a lot like Doug Dimmadone from Fairly Odd Parents.



He was also a meme at one point.

 

Don't even get me started on galarian weezing. This is ALL a new level pokemon dumb

 

Naw, I actually really like it. Probably my favorite Galar ‘mon so far, besides Yamper and Alcremie. I like how it has a “double meaning”, with the chimneys (chimnies?) representing industrialism, but also looking like top hats, representing British class. Besides, I think we can agree that its at least an improvement over regular Weezing. If there’s one thing regional forms like these are doing, its adding to simple Pokemon designs like these, and that’s not a bad thing.

 

I think that it is very stereotypical (like an alola form just having a surfboard, hat, and drink), and i think the colors are just an eysore. But in the end, this is only the opinion of one person, and i dont mean to cause any offense.
