    Who even does HIC anymore
well now i do thanks to this very epic HIC guide thats 100% accurate and crosschecked with the actual game

So here are some tips for starting out:

    1) I suggest using mage, because of how much extra space you can get when you dont need healing potions. Teleport is also good for fast escapes

    2) When leveling crafting, I like to level Armoring, Tailoring and Woodworking/Weaponsmithing depending on what class you chose. I suggest leveling alchemism/cooking later on, because you dont really have that much inventory space when it comes to all those ingredients and fish. Since Jeweling is pretty weak, I dont really like to level it, but if you want those 4 accessories for the 50% walk speed, you can do it, just remember how much scrap you will need.

    3) Only keep ingredients you can use that your current crafting levels. It is never a good idea to keep things that you wont need for a while. Uniques and commons are also not that great, unless you really need the emeralds, I throw them out. Rares and set items I usually keep for the emeralds, but you dont really have to.

    4) When getting scrap, I usually buy the lowest level potions in detlas (2 emeralds each) and scrap them. For 8 potions, you get like 3-5 scrap, meaning that it is about 4 emeralds a scrap (1 block = 16 scrap). It is a good idea to keep at least 20 scrap in your inventory, so that you can repair all of your items on the fly.

    5) When you are about to be killed (either in a boss fight, or just grinding), switch to a slot with a TP scroll (there should be one in your hotbar) and /class As fast as possible. After logging back in, immediately right click to TP away (this works because after /class-ing, all the mobs disappear and when logging in, it takes them a second to spawn in. If you teleport before they spawn in, it will work)

    6) Tips for getting ingredients to level up:
    • Strong zombie flesh (or whatever its called) is really good for making armor early game. I made a whole set with just 4 each and got +50 raw melee damage and a lot of melee damage%)
    • For leveling tailoring and armoring early game, kill the sheep in the sheep pen near the western detlas entrance. They drop pink wool (tailoring), wool (armoring + tailoring) and wooly armor (just tailoring i think)
    • Bone meal from decrepit sewers is very good for armoring and tailoring, it drops pretty common with those mobs. Since it is an ingredient Level 21, It is good to redo decrepit sewers at that level to get it
    • For cooking: eggs (katoa ranch), pigman meat, apples (orchard near detlas)
    • almost all of the valley wanderer mobs' drops (those things near time valley) are good for tailoring, armoring, and woodworking. I like to get lots of those.
    7) Durum isles are the best. You should do all of your farming there, even though there isn't a refinery, it is ok to take a boat/scroll back to detlas and walk your way to the refinery on the path from detlas to nivla. I like to: first get stuff like ingots and paper, then go to durum, farm, TP scroll to detlas, walk to refinery, refine, walk to nemract, craft items to level up, take boat to durum, repeat.

    8) I suggest using grind spots to level up, you should look at those videos that Shots made and the one olinus10 made. Quests can be good for Xp and rewards, but grind spots are very good early game. Speaking of quests:

    9) Important quests and why you should do them. This is a very short list of quests which are good in terms of rewards, that you should definitely do. This is only for early game, because lets be real, who is going to keep on grinding past level 40.
Less important quests are marked with a *
    • King’s Recruit: Cuz the king won’t let you leave his throne room unless you talk to him
    • Enzan’s Brother: Gives you an ingredient for a good starter weapon
    • *Poisoning the Pest: Access to Cevalus’ farm. Since the quest is so short, why not
    • *Tunnel Trouble: Gives you fast travel between deltas and ragni. Sometimes is it not really worth it, because of how long the quest is, but I do it anyway
    • *Elemental Exercise: gives you that rainbow weapon ingredient, can be good for weapons later on.
    • Grave Digger: access to that nice grinding spot near the nemract church
    • Stable Story: Horses are nice when doing HIC
    10) If you actually want to keep grinding past level 40, (I haven't got there yet but) you should go up a few levels and get good gear before doing a quest with a boss fight. I think the only reason to do quests with boss fights is because they usually give a good amount of XP.

Edit recommended: I don’t suggest doing Grave Digger unless you either wanna have -1 inventory space or use glitches to get rid of it then get it back for TOL. (Fixquest can easily fuck you up, never rely on it)

Getting rid of it isn’t that hard. You probably won’t need to get deleted quest items in the future, so /fixquests is really needed.

It can be really helpful : )
If someone actually made it to the later levels, they would need to do dungeons with other people doing it for them. The most help is with boss fights and dungeons, but I like to wait a few levels before I do quests boss fights. Dungeons however, will become much easier with other people helping you.

    little tip:
don't do Sand Swept Tomb at lowest possible lv. with someone carrying you, you'll get separated for a parkour and a fight room. the prerequisite quest will also separate you, but it's easy and doesn't have all that much combat

also, you cannot be healed or buffed by other players while you're an Ironman
