Guide Powder Specials?

I have 3 tier 6 earth powders on my bow and I have no clue how to use quake, which sucks because I would do like 4400 damage to everything around me. Is there a button combination you use after it is charged or what?

 

The special abilities are activated by holding the 'shift' key and using the mouse click for melee attack.

By the wiki: When a special is unlocked on a weapon, it will charge up while in use, shown by an indicator near the bottom of the screen. When the indicator reaches 100%, you are able to Shift-Click to activate the weapon's special.

 

How to use powder specials:

1) Get powder special unlocked
2) Charge it by hitting mobs with melee
3) Release with shift + mouse

A powder special only deals/affects damage of its element, though, so you will only inflict earth damage with quake and boost water damage with cyrse

 

Quake converts all neutral and raw to earth, if I remember correctly, but other elemental damages are preserved.

It's your button for sneak and left click. For me sneak would be "S", but for most people (and the default if shift) :)

 

wait a minute, how do you walk backwards then? or are you not using WASD for walking?

 

This is incorrect. I've used Quake and Curse and Chain Lightning before and dealt multiple elements of damage. On my fire/thunder bow I regularly am dealing neutral, fire, and thunder damage with Chain Lightning.

I suppose it's just the passives that are exclusive then.

 

Hm, I think motoki's thread needs to be updated then. According to that, neutral is converted to Earth.

 

The powders THEMSELVES convert damage to their element. Applying an earth powder VI converts 46% of a weapon's base neutral damage into earth damage. Weapon Powder Specials do no such conversion. However, armor powder specials only increase their respective elemental damage; Endurance only gives fire damage %, Rage only gives earth damage %, etc.

 

According to motoki's thread, non-raw neutral is converted to earth damage. I find it hard to believe that this would be missed in his testing.

Huh, that's not the raw melee then?
