Guys! You know what I noticed? Pokemon has gotten more and more political over the last two generations. Don’t believe me? I have plenty of evidence.

First of all, Gen 7 was the Alola region, based on Hawaii. This means that it makes fun of American politics (Hawaii is a technically a U.S. state after all). And this is evident through the pokemon designs alone. I mean, look at this. Gumshoos looks a lot like Trump:

Then, there’s Alolan Raticate, which is loosely based on Hillary Clinton:


And finally, there’s this Pokemon, Stakataka, which is obviously based on Trump Tower:



Pokemon Sun and Moon were also released in November of 2016, the same year and month as the presendential election. This cannot be a coincidence.


Now, Let’s move on to Gen 8, the upcoming games tht take place in the Galar region. This region takes place in the UK, so it makes fun of UK politics. First of all, we have professor Magnolia, who’s obviously based on Theresa May:


Next, there’s also the fact that not all pokemon will be available in Galar. This got the nickname “Dexit”, a reference to Brexit.


Finally, we have Wooloo, a sheep pokemon.

This must be a reference to the stereotype that Welsh people are sheep shaggers. How is this political you may ask? Because talking about it is politically incorrect.

In conclusion, Pokemon has become the South Park of video games. I’m calling it right now: Gen 9 will be based on India and the villanous team will be 9-year old grunts and their leader will be based on Pewdiepie.
