This is a cool concept but dear god, it shouldnt be forced upon the community like this.

Perhaps I would recieve this better if the game had enough challenge to warrant such changes and revamps. Buff the game difficulty and give burnout its +attack tier back. Don't force a tri-elemental build on every player.

Every change is drastic so I wouldn't judge on that. I agree that new Steamjets looks like trash, but I think Burnout is quite nice.

Introducing: Build Archetypes
We have rebalanced EVERY-SINGLE-PIECE-OF-ENDGAME-ARMOR to fit into one of the following 10 tri-elemental archetypes. An “archetype” is what we use to describe a playstyle of an element combo. While the items themselves are still single element or duo element and you are free to use whatever armour in whatever build, your builds will have a much significant synergetic and effectiveness boost if you use items of the same archetypes as they directly synergise and chain with each other.

Earth|Thunder|Water: Hybrid Glass Cannon - Chaos
The Chaos archetype focuses on extreme damage while trading away survivability. We’ve drastically increased glass cannon support, especially with Earth-Thunder items to make them much more appealing and worth it to use.

Earth|Thunder|Fire: Heavy Melee - Volcanic
The Volcanic archetype provides exceptional burst melee damage with high sustain. Fully utilising powder special and choosing the right armours to suit your weapon will be critical for this archetype.

Earth|Thunder|Air: Tiered Melee - Rogue
The Rogue archetype provides increased attack speed to your weapon for high DPS output as well as good mobility support, but beware of your health and defences.

Earth|Water|Fire: Spell Tank - Paladin
The Paladin archetype features high health and stable spell capabilities with good regeneration support. Players that prefer a stable but effective playstyle will find themselves fond of building this direction.

Earth|Water|Air: Spell Steal - Void
The Void archetype is a hybrid playstyle that utilises mana steal and life steal. While the archetype itself is not particularly tanky, you will find your combat sustainability is compounded with your high damage output for a very optimal playstyle.

Earth|Fire|Air: Fast Melee - Valiance
The Valiance archetype provides a quick melee playstyle by stacking raw melee. This archetype is highly effective against elementally defensive foes as the raw melee act as neutral damage that penetrates elemental defences. It also features a range of high health and defensive option if you choose to spec in that direction.

Thunder|Water|Fire: Spell Spam - Anima
The Anima archetype features high regeneration for both the mana and health in exchange for a less stable playstyle. Players that prefer a bit of risk for the better reward would prefer this over the Paladin archetype but overall it is a pretty balanced playstyle.

Thunder|Water|Air: Spell Glass Cannon - Tempest
The Tempest archetype adopts the "Run and Gun" playstyle and turns you into a speeding and spell casting cannon. Your health and survivability will be low but the damage, dodge chance and the walk speed will be more than enough to compensate.

Thunder|Fire|Air: Sustain Tank - Vampiric
The Vampiric archetype provides high life steal and mana steal for active combat sustainability. With a high health pool you will never run out of health and mana provided that you keep attacking.

Water|Fire|Air: Mobility Tank - Divine
The Divine archetype is the ultimate tank that provides exceptional elemental defence, health on top of mana and health regeneration. While your damage might not be as flashy as other combos, being able to survive any situation and shrugs off incoming damages are no joke.

Players are free to juggle and combo different piece of armours to shape their individual builds within an archetype for maximum efficiency. You can use defensive pieces for a melee archetype for better survivability, or combo offensive pieces on a tank build for better damage capabilities. The choices are yours and it is up to you to shape your build. However, there is something that will help you tie everything in your archetype together if you so choose...

Hive Armor Rework
To cater to the different tri-elemental archetypes, we have reworked all of the hive armours and added new 6 new ones to act as the centrepiece of each archetype. This is to further incentives and synergise with your build. However, they are not necessary for your build to be effective if you wish to opt for the weapons or the accessories.

Those who followed our ARG weeks ago will find some of the names on the new hive armours quite familiar...

Endgame Overhaul
Here are some more example items to show you the scope of the rework. While we gave a lot of love to the armours so far, all level 80+ weapons have received a revision as well. We have also reworked and added/reduced IDs on mythics for the first time to accommodate for the shift in focus. Mythic boots have received a buff and have been reworked into duo elemental. oh and we added 5 more.

General Focus Shifts
With all the rework and changes, it is a good opportunity to properly shift the focus to even out the playing field for all the different types of items and elements to create a more balanced and even build environment.

Massively increased Melee Support
Melee items are much more diverse and provide different ways to boost your melee capabilities that fit into different archetypes.

Massively increased Tank Support
Tank items are much more intuitive to be used in your build and will be the backbone for your build’s survivability, even if you’re not building tank exclusively you may still find yourself using tank items to provide extra sustain and defences to your build!

Distribution of Mana
Mana is no longer a luxury of Water, you can now find mana regen and mana steal in every element and every elemental combo, almost. Elements and archetypes will affiliate will one type of mana over the other to feed into their playstyle, but you will have a much more diverse range of options to choose from.

Increased Pure Rainbow Support
Rainbow items, especially weapons, received a drastic buff so they are better combo together instead of slapped onto other build archetypes.

Global Requirement Increase
Most if not all items in the endgame have received a requirement increase to fit into their combo. This avoids weapons to be secondary when they are not intended to be used as so as well as encourage using items of the same archetype to benefit from the skill point bonuses.

Elemental Skill Points Bonus Increase
Single and duo elemental items have their skill points increased to compensate for the required increase to encourage chaining into other items of the same archetype.

Rainbow Skill Points Bonus Decrease
Rainbow skill points have been lowered to a similar amount as what you would get from single/duo elemental items. They will now only be available in items with rainbow requirements, and they no longer take up all of the item’s power so there will be different extra bonuses on them. This is so that rainbow skill points bonus becomes less of a necessity and more of an optional bonus.

This patch only changes items and does not contain any mechanic and formula change. The IMs do not have control over when the fixes/changes to defence skill points or elemental defence those stuff will be made.

When is this being released?
The released is scheduled to be around early July, but with all things Wynncraft related, it is possible to subject to delays and mishaps. Please don't hate on us when that happens :<

I am sure there is a lot of questions and a lot of feelings in all of you right now. New IDs...

Oh that's a big problem. If you own any items that have had IDs added, you'll notice that their IDs are constantly in flux - they "reroll" every time you do any sort of action (move between item slots, open inventory, etc.). Knucklebones is one of the most visible ones, with old Knucklebones having constantly varying +tier. This change is going to encounter a huge problem if that bug isn't fixed when it rolls out.

Woops, it’s actually ‘Abyss imbued’, I made that post right before I went to sleep :p. To explain the 'teaser' some letters are bolded, and they give the letters 'Abyssimbued'.

But this (seemingly final) teaser has given me an idea of what this whole riddle could be about. So far, we’ve gotten 8 teasers (to recap them all: the weird grid, the portal frame, the Gilded Twilight Tour event, the ‘Eden’s Blessing’ item from Binding of Isaac, the Wonder Woman comic page (hint confirmed to be Hephaestus), the Wingdings monster, the gif of SilverMirror being mean to a brain man, and now the ‘ending’ post).

I think we’ve more or less accepted two of them to be about Hephaestus-Forged Greaves and Brainwash. However, the wording in the last ‘teaser’ seems off; it says we’ve gotten 6 keywords. We’ve gotten 8 teasers. Concluding from this is that some teasers are probably part of the same item being teased. Plus, the wording of the last actual riddle seems very similar to the naming scheme of a certain group of gear we already know.. my theory is this:

We’re getting changed Hive weapons.

1. The grid was showing what double-element weapons exist for what class.

View attachment 147386 This isn’t really correct but let’s go with it, I made this mostly going by the idea that the checks mark good double-element weapons (Harwrol, Peaceful Rest, Phoenix Wing, Blur, Black); even though the the list doesn’t really make sense, who knows, might’ve been made before asking the community about double-elements.

2. The portal and facebook event teaser together tease one new item: ‘Portal-Gilded ___’, ‘Nether-Gilded ___’, ‘Twilight-Gilded ___’?

3. Eden’s Blessing seems pretty easy right now, ‘Eden-Blessed ___’.

4. Hephaestus could either be the first part in the name of a new Hive weapon, but it’s more likely that it’s getting a rework or put in to hint at the Hive-related part, and as a pause between two teasers fitting together.

5. The Wingdings monster is a lot harder, and I haven’t been able to solve it, but it probably leads to something hinting towards Hive stuff. The second-to-last teaser would follow up on the last thing, making it end on ‘-thought’, ‘-controlled’, ‘-engineered’, ‘-pushed’ or something like that.

6. The last teaser is the most obvious here: ‘Abyss-Imbued ___’

I’ve also seen multiple IMs say they kind of dislike the way Hive weapons are almost always better than legendaries, but they couldn’t change it because they were the only thing keeping mythics somewhat ‘balanced’ and were necessary to make every element/playstyle combination functional for every class. All of those requirements have been taken over by crafted items. Therefore, Hive weapons can now finally be something unique, and I think this is what these teasers have been about. It’s no secret the community and the Item team wants more/better double-element in general, so I think these new weapons are gonna be double or oven tri-element, if we’re comparing to the way the Hive armor works.

There are, by the way, 6 element combinations left unused: Earth/Thunder/Water, Earth/Thunder/Fire, Earth/Thunder/Air, Earth/Water/Air, Earth/Fire/Air and Water/Air/Fire. Current Hive armor uses thunder 3x, fire 3x, water 3x, air 2x and earth 1x. To even this out we would need at least 3 weapons with earth damage, and at least 2 with air damage. I’m just doing some fun speculation here, based on the possible names, but what about:

Weapon from point 2: Earth/Thunder/Fire (bow?)

Eden-Blessed Weapon: Water/Air/Fire (spear?)

Weapon from point 5: Earth/Water/Air (daggers?)

Abyss-Imbued weapon: Earth/Thunder/Air (wand?)

If anyone sees a big loophole, please tell me before I make myself look like an idiot.

Well, I did not see this coming, and I must admit that I have a LOT of mixed feelings about this. My concerns, however, mostly lie with community response to these drastic changes.

While I approve of changing mythic items, they're the most valuable in the game. Have you guys considered how adding and removing IDs might influence the value of individual items? It would be terrible for everyone who had a "godly" mythic, only to have it lose value due to the addition of a new identification that becomes poorly rolled.

Also, what issues are you guys trying to solve, aside from diversifying the endgame pool? Are all of these changes necessary? I can see that tri-element builds are becoming a new focus, but how does this update effect purely dual-elemented builds?

If anything, I hope we get a list of all the changes that are occurring, for community feedback and preparation purposes.

P.S. On a totally unrelated note, my Divzer build falls into the "Chaos" archetype, and it looks like I'm going to be having a shitload of fun with this new update.

I think much like the Crafted Powder nerf, which made hundreds of crafted items completely unusable or frail with no warning, the item team is thinking too much about what these updates are for, and not taking into enough account the damages that will be done. With the game's current difficulty and lack of actual endgame playable content, I feel like this overhaul is too ambitious, not necessary, and breaks way more than it fixes. There really should be "proposition threads" of sorts so that the community can comment on the concept of the Content Team's ideas Before they put in all the hours of making such changes and thrusting it on the community.

This will absolutely kill a ton of builds, I see a lot more bad than good coming from this. the whole idea of builds is the freedom and now we're almost forced to build around certain parameters. I can say first hand that this will kill I believe 4 maybe 3 out of the 5 builds I'm currently using. This does not seem well thought out, and while cool in concept, there will probably be a lot of backlash and a lot of people are definitely going to be pissed.
