Standard telepathy works like this:

X = creature with telepathy
Y = creature without telepathy

X makes contact with Y. Y by itself can't start the contact.

X can telepathically talk to Y. Y can telepathically talk to X.

X can end contact with Y. Y by itself can't end the contact.

So yes he can respond telepathically, but he cant start or end the telepathic connection.

 

I’m easily shoved back, and the raven departs from my head from the force and flutters a bit.
I take a few steps away from you. I tilt my head up and the skin where my mouth was stretches as it looks like I’m trying to scream towards the sky.
I turn back to you as the raven lands on my shoulder.

Heat's eyelids slide open and the dim light emitted shines brighter. The furnace flares to life while Heat's limbs swivel and shift into place.
He stands.
"Systems operational; hearth core in subpar condition."

I turn to you.

"This affliction of yours, and the new ability you've gained... you don't seem to be fully taken by the plague, but you seem to have... come back wrong. I wonder if the Deadlands had a hand in this, or if it was whatever other power that brought you back?"

"All I know is that this weird raven pulled me out of whatever was happening to me when I got stabbed, then brought me to this lady who asked if I wanted to live."

The raven caws again, and this time I look at it without swatting at it.

 

I jolt awake and look at the group angrily.

Kyelas (groggily): "Can you guys keep it down? There are people trying to sleep here!"

I lie down, close my eyes... Then jolt back awake.

"WHAT THE HELL?"

 

I put my finger to the skin that was once my lips.

Alas : "Next time you scream like a little girl while we sleep, I will do whatever it takes to revive Okami, find a way to bring the seagull back, and make him kill Okami in front of you again."

Alas : "Hum ... Erevan, you transformed Caligo's body into a puppet to do a puppet show ? I want to see a scene where Okami mistakes Caligo's foot with a mouse and bites him. Anyway, great idea to do that, it will entertain us before sleeping to see you play with his body !"

 

I glare at you.

"If only Alas was the one that went insane instead of Althaios... At least Alth could be entertaining at times..."

 

I idly check my stab wound, which seems to have healed.

 

Alas : "I have better thing to do than be entertaining. I still don't know why I saved him from these ugly owls, maybe because I wanted to kill him, and not the owls, but you did first. Lucky boy."
