Who Here Is The Most Hardcore Gamer?

Hardcore mode. Hmmmmm

 

Is this a thing when you create a new class or is it just a general difficulty option? Any HERO got info on this?

Making things difficult for the sake of making things difficult appeal to hardcore players, but so long as the challenge is a fair one. Casual players won't have any interest without incentive, and after a few play throughs of hardcore mode most players will get tired of it. This doesn't really seem like end game content, just an extra feature for a niche of players.

Well, good to know us nons are getting a feature we can totally use outside of our four classes (one for every class, which we wouldn't want to delete ofcourse), in the one extra class we have. Ofcourse, if you want to make money, you'd have to delete the class you spent so much time on beating on hard mode. Oh well.

Unless we're getting an extra class slot(s). I've always argued nons have exactly enough class slots, but uh..

Also tested a few things

In Ironman Mode
- You cannot use bank
- You cannot pick up items dropped by other players

In Hardcore Mode
- Seems that if you die you permanently lose the Hardcore Icon (i.e. it turns gray)
- You can still use /kill without losing the Hardcore Icon

Imagine getting a Mythic on an Ironman account, and not being able to trade it or stash it into the bank!

 

There's room for one more mode, maybe it's a secret until release? Or, we need to suggest something ourselves..
-double damage taken/half damage done
-no armor (didn't someone already do li with only a weapon and accesories?)
-melee only
-no natural mana regen
-spider build only
-only use normal gear
-..uh, think of something yourself c:

Also, Ironman might actually be harder than Hardcore, seeing as you'll need to grind levels and and gear before you do certain quests (and you'll still need almost an empty inventory for Temple of the Legends). It's probably also gonna result in almost fully dungeon-only builds, which I think is pretty cool. Too bad Ironman classes will never be able to be bank classes though.
Are you trying to tell us nons something, Salted?

 

what if you did everything ironman mode?
like all quests, every dungeon at least once, every boss altar at least once, total lv 1664, LI at least once(not that anyone could do that all)
would you then finally be able to trade and use bank?

 

Ideas for challenges that probably everyone thought of:
1. Without spells
2. Without quests/dungeons
3. Without Fast travels and scrolls

 

Ironman + Craftsman

• Can't save materials in bank so must use them instantly. (Weight problem)
• Must hold every ingredients which you could lose them easily from death
• Always hold scraps for crafted items but you can lose them easily from death
• Can't craft much meaningful items before endgame so they are close to normal items
