Texture Pack

is there a way to shorten the load time to get into the game by removing the time it takes to get into the texture pack by making it a pack i can simply have activated so its already on when i open the server? my computer has quite a few disconnection issues and its rather annoying when im fighting zombies or something, to have to wait for the game to load the pack, by that time im already dead and lost a good chunk of my items when i could simply relog, get back in and all id have to do is open the character back up, not worry bout waiting for the texture pack to load
