Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I begin my journey toward the nearby kingdom, keeping an eye on my environment and the animals within it.

 

Linoa waits a minute before stepping in the room and whistling.


The hammer bounces off without consequence.
“I’d rather not, I’m not built for durability. At all.”

Right...

As you dig, it seems to be a part of a banner. You can’t dig it all out, but it’s attached to a pole buried even further down.

Arkclal keeps just as vigilant, though Arie doesn’t seem to understand the worry as she walks a bit ahead of the group.

 

A large bird caws at me as I walk near to it's tree, before it flies away. I keep my eyes on the bird momentarily, before looking forward once more. A cool breeze blows by, carrying a bit of dust with it.

 

Crystal watches Linoa, waiting.


“Alright.”
I say aloud, then think to Stella.
“Recognize these runes?”

 

Any symbol on it?

 

Arie glances at you, seeming a bit unsure of your wariness.

Eventually, Crystal can see a ball of white fluff move about the edge of one of the walkways.
“It’s okay, girl. He’s a friend.” Linoa cooes.


“Not at all, sorry.”

Looks like an open mouth with fire jn the middle.

 

“Hi.”
Crystal smiles.


“Do I, perchance, have an HF blade hidden somewhere on me?”
I continue asking Stella.

 

"So.. a dragon I assume. Do we have memory of a banner like this?"

 

I glance back at Arie, before casually unsheathing and swiping my blade upwards. Blood splatters around me as two halves of a more deformed looking version of the bird from the tree drop to my left and right; its sharp teeth primed in an attempt to bite off my head and upper torso.

 

A snout and blue eyes pokes out of the now still feather-bundle.
“You’re fine, Avis.” Linoa says quietly.


“No, those are never built into a robot. I can send someone down that does have one, though.”

No. Didn’t you forget we lived on the mainland? I don’t remember much about the old kingdoms at home either.

Arie blinks before turning back and continuing on.
“...I get the feeling you two are escorting me.” Arkclal mumbles.

 

"The wilds are extremely dangerous. Going out alone or inexperienced is suicide." I say, continuing toward civilization.

 

“Good thing Arie isn’t... normal. As for my brother... well, he’s dealt with worse.” He sighs.

 

"Are you quite certain? One wrong move in the more dangerous parts out here is instantaneous death." I ask, seeming a little concerned.

 

“You had no care for him a moment ago.” He says. “Regardless, his weapons all are demons who have fallen against him. He is free to assume any of their forms as he wills. They act as extra lives of sorts, as well.”

 

Crystal slightly moves to try and get a better look.


“Well, the head librarian is under here. Your call, based on if we’re sticking with this whole look-through-the-library plan.”

 

"Unless one of them is an experienced Shadow that has somehow resisted the urge to reclaim it's body, I doubt he'd survive here," I say, "Nor in hell, for that matter; but that's irrelevant."

 

Avis' snout is more visible as she peeks down from above.
She stares right into Crystal, seeming untrusting.


"No. Though important, this... side mission, frankly... is your affair and your responsibility. If you want me to send someone down I will, but there's a good chance they'll bring more people in to clean house."

"He claims the bodies, not their spirits. Regardless, it wouldn't be a terrible loss for him to find fate knocking on his door out here."

 

Crystal stares right back with a... well, glassy look in his eyes.


“Alright.”
I consider my options before giving the floor one last very hard smack with my hammer.

 

"I still see that as disrespectful, but then again, he's a necromancer." I say, shrugging.

 

“I forget that I am in a land so drastically different than my home... regardless, he technically has the blood right to do so in our eyes. At that, so do I... such actions aren’t fit for an ambassador, though.”

Avis lets out a loud chirp, holding her maw open as if to snarl at Crystal. Instead of anything intimidating, she winds up letting out an endearing screech.


A slight dent this time, but you wind up dumping the contents of a shelf onto the naga robot with the reverbrations.
