do i need to mine anything?
where do i get it?

Process it at a refining station

You can get a stack of platinum ingots by doing the "From The Bottom" quest

 

Platinum ingots are from bandits in CotL, they are ingredients not resources.

 

can you not abbreviate it? i don't know what it means

 

CotL=Canyon of the Lost.
Typically, I grind it around where "A Marauder's Dues" begins.
