Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Hey, there are all sort of creatures on this world. Could have been worse."

 

"Tsk, people will let anyone in here these days..." I say, seeming unimpressed.

 

I look for any other exit, not worrying about waking the naga.

 

"You have a wide open portal leading into this realm, literally anyone can just up and walk in." He shrugs. "As for how I got here, Arie has a tracker on her. Emerald didn't want her getting into too much trouble, and when she went off she passed the monitor off to me. Your realm's as wild as the Void out here, really gave me a run for my money finding her."
Pause.
"Judging by that attitude, though, I take it my trip out here was for nothing since you are indeed the ruiner she spoke of."

There isn't one. Makes sense they wouldn't hide anything important in an insecure room, though...

Hold on... you mean there's something worse than giant spiders out here? You're joking, right?

 

“Right.”
He nods.

“Are nagas intelligent creatures here, Stella?”

 

"And how am I supposed to believe you're not some rogue here to steal Arie away?" I ask, glaring at the human.

 

He snickers.
"Right, because every rogue wants to steal a continent."

Linoa opens the door to the cryostasis room.
"Why don't you go introduce yourself?"


"Yes, wh- um... and the scans say they're alive?"

 

"Okay!"
Crystal struts into the room, looking around for Avis.


"Why is that confusing? I was hoping that they were intelligent so I could justify asking them to leave."

 

"I mean.. we've met dragons and such."

 

I just glare at the human.

 

I said worse, not more deadly.

It's extremely cold, albeit for obvious reasons. There's a few dozen stories of cryopods attached to metal walkways, with only ladders connecting the different floors.


"You hit them upside the head with debris. And they didn't move. Actually... get a closer look for me. If there's not even a scratch, then you've found some robot."

"Yeah yeah, everyone here hates humans because the ones here suck and ruin everything. Not even gonna give me the courtesy of telling me your actual name?"

 

"Of course not. What reason do I have to trust you?" I ask.

 

"I think this might look familiar to you?"
He tosses you Ihra's black tome.
"I'm done with it anyways. Figure you see her more often than the rest of the resistance, so hopefully you don't mind a quick delivery job."

 

"Where did you get this?" I say, narrowing my eyes at the human.

 

Crystal tries to keep himself from instinctually lighting a fire as he tries to find Avis.


I get closer to where I hit them with the debris, searching.

 

"Good point. I can't think of anything worse then giant spiders."

 

"I think we both know there's only one person who would keep this around." He mumbles. "Though, out of curiosity, what made you think I'm a rogue?"

There are a few downy feathers and claw marks on the edges of the walkways, but Avis is keeping silent and out of sight.


There's no mark, no scratch.
"...Your call. I can't get anyone else down here without another group coming in and tearing this place up even more."

Anyhow... giant spiders aside, can I come out now?

Seems the moon is starting to set. You've been up quite a while now.

 

"You humans are always up to no good these days," I say, "Seems like a fitting enough description."

 

He smiles.
"I take it you're not one to believe there's a bit of good everywhere, then? Well, I suppose opposites do attract..."

 

"What are you talking about?" I ask, suspicious.
