Serious What Do You Think About People Who Give Out Spoilers?

You try to delay it, run from it, for what?

I've had the sad experience of being spoiled of endgame, and it's still gonna be another 2 weeks until my family sees it.

If you're wondering how I got spoiled, it was from just going about my life, just playing games that I normally play (Minecraft, TF2, etc) and some asshole spoiling some shit and me thinking to myself "I'm gonna be the next hitler"

I just wanna say this isn't the first time I've been spoiled of something, for instance I got the ending of Logan spoiled for me just by browsing a comment section.

So if it isn't clear, I have a pure hatred for people who give out spoilers.
But what's your opinion on people who give out spoilers?

Also spoil one thing about endgame and I will personally tell you to go jump off a cliff

I personaly hate having my expirience spoiled. Be it with games, books or movies. Before I have watched them (haven’t seen endgame yet)

Those people deserve to be punished way more. I don’t want to have to not play any of a specifc set of games I like because there’s THAT GUY.

In some cases, people plan on seeing movies in the future mainly because they don't have the time to watch it and/or they want to watch it with someone else in particular. (either for joking or enjoyment sake)

I'd say it's fine in certain situations. One of these is when it's done by someone who has an audience which has likely already seen/read/played what he or she spoils about. Like if you see someone who discusses old movies with their audience or with others, you shouldn't be surprised to see them spoil how Rear Window ended. But if you've got a YT channel aimed mostly at kids, you shouldn't spoil Breaking Bad, even though it's over a decade old, as your audience might watch the show later. A lot of people haven't seen Endgame yet, so right now, I think nobody should say anything about it.

Some years ago I was reading HP for the first time. I was on the Halfblood Prince, and was watching a Let's Player play the HP game of the same name. In one episode he spoiled that Snape was the Halfblood Prince, so the surprise was ruined for me. Looking back, I really shouldn't have been reading the book and watching someone play the game at the same time.

By the way, this reminds me of an article from my English textbook, in which people are asked about their stance on spoilers. According to the article, most people don't care, and - get this - actually prefer being spoiled, as it supposedly enhances their viewing/reading experience (it's more relaxing apparently). It also said plots might just be an excuse for good writing. What do you think about that?

I remember being spoiled about basically every major death in Harry Potter before I read the last few books, so I understand how you feel. Unfortunately, after a while people just talk about big cultural things in everyday conversations, so I guess spoilers are sadly inevitable. There's not much you can do about it sadly.

But people who decide to blurt out spoilers for recent big movies that got released yesterday? Those guys are jerks.

As I think has already been mentioned intentionally spoiling experiences (whether that be films, games, books etc.) is clearly not acceptable - especially if someone has asked you specifically not to do so. But I think it's inevitable that spoilers are going to happen whether intentionally through people trolling chat (in games, on social media etc.) or unintentionally because they just want to discuss a film they enjoyed. As for me personally, I personally don't mind spoilers, that might be because I don't have much I'm excited for (I don't watch too many films) and when I am spoiled I generally forget it by the time I get around to actually enjoying that content.
