Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Upon noticing her powers revert, Katie creates an icy glass of water and sips it, seeming to have needed the cold liquid.

 

“Who’s Gale?”

I weave through the columns just as well, focusing on trailing the hare.

 

Ihra rubs her eyes a bit before flipping open a spell book and paging through.

"The reason there are two meetings out here instead of just one."


Eventually, just as it reaches the edge of the courtyard, it seems to split into two as they dive into the labyrinthine darkness.

When you take the stick off your tongue, there's a faint pink tint.
"Well, she was right. The trace of the spell that's here is way too old to still be affecting you. If you two've been getting along, then it's true love."

 

"I see."

"But it still proves there was a spell in play."

 

"Indeed. Anyhow, your life choices aren't mine to make. If you want to leave without her, so be it... though I'd appreciate it if you took her with you."

 

Katie glances over, though still looks rather shaken.

 

Ihra seems to be working with a small spark, silent.

 

Katie refills her glass and sips it quietly, enjoying the silence. She seems to zone out a bit as she remembers the sound of the ocean, accidentally creating large puddles at her feet; unaware.

 

Ihra's spark soon turns into a portal back near the Void Palace courtyard.


Chroma steps out of a portal near Abigail's house, glancing around but seemingly unwary or expectant.

 

"Yeah, I'll take her with me. I'll discuss it with her elsewhere."

I'll look at the door that they locked Anne in.
"You can let her out."

 

Katie hurries through after Ihra, smile appearing on her face.

"We're back!" Katie says, jumping as she raises her fist to the air.


Abigail's house seems to be quite heavily locked, and seems to distort more than the heat of the volcano is already changing it.

 

She winds up jumping and lightly punching Rineth.
"I appreciate you taking that job on for me." He chuckles.


"The ruse worked too well..." Chroma mumbles, approaching the volcano as red crystals emerge from his scales.

The naga opens the door, Anne jumping farther than you've seen her leap before to get on your shoulder.
"Please take me back with you, please take me back with you, please take me back with you." She says, sounding somewhat crazed.

 

"I-It was no problem." Katie says, her moment of joy fading.


A large chunk of pumice is erupted from the volcano, almost hitting Chroma in the head as it bounces off the wall near to him at high speeds, before falling back into the magma. It appears to be a random occurrence, until another one hits him in the leg this time.

 

Rineth sets a somewhat large (for Katie's size) bag next to her.
"Considering that's the wage for the job, it's yours."


Each piece of pumice shatters against brown crystals spontaneously erupting to meet them.
"You going to call your friend in again or are we doing this all day?" He calls, taking another step closer to the volcano.

 

Katie opens up the bag, curiously looking inside.


The pumice seems to turn into malformed and sharp chunks of obsidian, regurgitated from the depths of the volcano. There's no response, however.

 

“O-okay...”

I quickly try to discern the difference between the two.

 

OH! So this is where that went. After all this time.

@Exvhius, is this still relevant?

 

"Yeah, yeah.. Come on."

 

I replied, but it was so long ago I don't recall much of the scenario. I'll work on fixing that on my end, but it might be a while with finals in two weeks.

She doesn't dig in her claws, seeming panicked as she leans against your neck.

"Do you not remember talking about Gale?"


Considering one seems to vanish into thin air, the task becomes easy.

A large sum of gold is within, along with a few gemstones.


Chroma blocks them with dark crystal spines.
"I thought I had your attention... no, I knew I had your attention. Fission Gaia, mother of guardians..." He mutters.

 

Katie grabs as much gold and gemstones as she can in her arms, before turning around and offering them to Ihra with a smile - albeit a weak one from the weight of the currency.


The sky seems to darken over Chroma, though only appears to be only him. A moment later, the source is revealed to be a large boulder falling directly onto him.
