Any Class Avoid Extreme Hybrid ( Legendary Island Failure )

'Hybrid' is the type of the build which is using melee/spell attack together.
To benefit from both melee and spell, hybrud builds are using mana/life steal.

Here's some weapon examples, which is commonly used on hybrid builds :





Because they have great damage compared to other close level weapons, I can see many people asking build with those.

When you search the builds with these items, you might find builds like this easily :

However, usually those builds have stats like this :



Some people might think this is fine since mana steal is overwhelming downside.
However, for some challenges like LI, bosses won't wait you to activate mana steal. And if you can't activate it, you become worthless.

I was feeling bad about those builds, so I just think 'ew' everytime I see those builds.
(From now I'll call that as 'Extreme Hybrid', the build which is relying on mana steal too much.)

So while ignoring those Extreme Hybrid builds, and looking for the next Legendary Island challenge, I found this :


@Madkurre 's Lunar Spine Qira solo.

This got my interest, because it's proving that even Extreme Hybrid builds can be used on real battles.

With the small hope and belief, I decided to ask help from @Madkurre and @LarzLapiz to make own build for LI. (Since LI is different from just Qira, so I decided to put more walk speed in it.)

Just like kurre, I was managed to beat Qira without using pot, so I thought it might work fine on LI.

However..


Legendary Island was way worse than I thought.

• Some bosses are requiring 1v1

For example, Matrojan Idol. As I mentioned above there, Extreme Hybrid build is worthless without activating steal.
Since this fight has no other minions, I usually enter the worthless time.

• Bosses are quick.

Bosses won't wait you use stealing. For example, Matrojan Idol again. If it spams some movement spells like charge, you can't use stealing.
You might think about using stun spell before that, but many bosses can still spam spells even if it's stunned.

You can see my death at the end of the video. Because of the dodge fast speed, undodgeable heavy teleport, and heal spam, it's almost impossible to beat that form.

"But you almost killed it!"

So some people are asking me to try again, but thinking about the other bosses after this, I found that it's hopeless.

• Matrojan Idol 9th/10th form

Of course I can use ice snake to stop it. But once it's released and mana ran out at the same time, I'm dead.

• Mechorrupter of Worlds

Same reason.


This attempt was failure, but guess I learnt something from this.
I might say..

If you are thinking about making hybrid builds for LI,

"Please avoid making Extreme Hybrid builds."
(Get some base mana regen for them at least)

Like...yeah mana steal is a addition to mana regen not a sub...stop learning the hard way people :/

 

Boi I went to mechacorrupter with a very low dmg spine build

(And solo’d qira with my ws build with 3k meteors and 900 poison xD)

how I did it?

I counted 5 little dots at first then swapped to lunar, dishing out 3-4 spells then swapping off, avoiding the degen tick then repeating the cycle again. If the degen tick got me, I drank a health pot and ran for the hills xD

And idk bout mecha all I know was that I was using a water lunar with 5k raw spell and got multi hit to death xd
