Spoiler: The stuff you need to know to get into this

It's basically Twitch Plays a Forum RP, you can hop in and out whenever.

• You began in a desert oasis with basically no memory.
• At a point, you went exploring and found a statue in a box. Upon dropping it into the oasis's well, it dissolved.
• Just prior to that, you 'fought' some kind of Rock Dog. When injured, it cracked open to reveal molten lava. It's dead, but it had a smaller counterpart that escaped.
• (On Pages 7-8) Some woman showed up out of nowhere and talked about a bunch of strange things.
• ... and then she left, just as something approached the oasis.

With a life mostly back in order and a fresh view on it, I return from the grave. Here's some baseline things:

Later down the line, once and if a plot tumor develops into a full-blown plot, choices will likely be proposed by me and voted on by you.

For now, though? The only thing that needs to happen is a consensus. This is a Quest, not a traditional RP, which means it will be functioning closer to an MS Paint Adventure than said traditional RP.

As it's my first time doing something like this, it also means that the Quest will begin on the old convention known as the ontological mystery, as to ease both you and me in.

I've spent... a non-trivial amount of time hammering this out, and I've run a successful trial on Discord, so I have high hopes. Thank you, if you decide you want to make this a regular thing.

I must emphazise, there's absolutely no need for attatchment here. Still, I'd appreciate it if you wish to help with this little game.

Scenerio:

You awaken laying in soft grass. Above you lies a starry sky being overtaken by dawn, and in your hand you hold a single rusted knife.

You do not remember a single thing that led to this moment.

What will you do?

 

Shall I stab myself with the knife like everyone commonly does sit up, and look around?

You sit up, the rising sun to your back. Around you are a smattering of what appears to be palm trees, still as can be. The air is stale here, almost dead.
Next to you, maybe the span of an arm away to your left, is a small pond. Probably a well, as you cannot see the bottom.
Further observation reveals that, around you in every direction, the soft soil is overtaken by sand, continuing in desolate dunes to the horizon.
You appear to have found yourself in a desert oasis.

 

What else do I have on my? (Including my clothes. Does it look like I was prepared to go on an expedition or was I just yoinked from my bed? ;~;)

 

You're not in staught up pyjamas, but you're still wearing what you're certain are casual clothes. Nothing too formal, just the kind you would throw on quickly before leaving home to...

do something. Probably something mundane, but something.

 

Any animals inside or around the pond?

 

One. You can't really make it out all that well, but there's some tiny thing munching on a bush across the pond. Other than it, there's no life that you can see anywhere around you.

 

Another smart idea is to lose items ASAP.
Throw the knife at it and hope for a NAT 20.

You creep closer, getting your first good look at the creature. Stubby legs to a misshapen, grey body, you are momentarily confused until what you're seeing fully asserts itself.
It's a walking rock.
Multiple, really, but in one mass. It's mainly built around a small boulder as a 'body', with smaller rocks attatched as a head and tail, along with four stubby legs. The entire thing's maybe the size of your forearm.

As you approach, it 'looks' at you (it doesn't have eyes, or really any discernable features) before bolting as fast as its stubby legs allow it. Your knife is sucessfully retrieved.

 

Where did it flee towards?

 

Assuming you woke up facing west,

and rounded the pond in the direction you were facing, you're now halfway around and facing east. By that metric, it fled towards the south-east, or away from you and to the right.

 

Go to the north since I ain't kicking a rock
