  • I feel it uses way too much quartz. Yes, I know that's the whole idea but the buildings are just so bland when they're only made of one block material. Having some diorite mixed with the quartz alongside sandstone roofs (like in the new wall that Llevigar got some months ago) and the place would look much better.

  • Could have some changes in layout (like PlasmaWarrior mentioned) and maybe some expanding since it feels a bit too small.

The god damn combat system.
(this is about PVE combat, not PVP. PVP is also bad but I think PVE is a bigger part of the game and thus more important)
Combat in this game is extremely one dimensional and outdated and there is almost no way to express yourself in how you fight outside of just having a different build. All encounters play out exactly the same and the best strategy is always to spam your basic attack and spells while running in circles around whatever you're fighting. Additionally, almost all the spells are either really bad in combat or just really boring to use. Combine that with the fact that all classes only have 4 spells each and you end up with a system where all the classes play out almost the same with each class having no real identity.

Don't get me wrong though, just adding more spells isn't gonna help at all, but I do think that at least the option to for example chose between a selection of spells will give each player the option to play to a style that fits them more. For example, giving warrior a few damage oriented spells and a few spells that would suit a tank playstyle and then letting them chose what 4 spells they like the most.

Lastly, I think changing/updating enemy AIs would really make combat a lot more fun. afaik the current basic AI just have enemies run to whoever hit them last (not 100% sure about this I haven't played for a second). I know there are a few different AIs for different move patterns but most basic mobs and bosses follow the exact same idea of just running at you and damaging you while casting their spells on cooldown. If AIs were changed to follow a more traditional MMORPG style I think it could really improve the combat overall. Such changes would allow for the holy trinity an actually viable strategy if not THE strategy which would go a long way to make moment to moment combat a lot more interesting. This would also really help with incentivising team play, something I think the game currently lacks a bit of.

Actually this is a great suggestion. As cool as a server Wynn is there needs to be something really massive (a new class) to peak interest.

And on the topic of peaking interests, the main goal of this server, for the developers that is, is to make money. There is nothing humble, generous, or noble about the true nature of this server. You may not like the connotation of those words but it's true, Salted keeps this shit running because he wants to make money. With that being said, I think the best way to gain an influx of players is simply better marketing. Creating a trailer video for an update with already a trailer on the YouTube account for which its sole purpose is to deliver Wynn content will be very rarely seen by eyes that are not from our community.

To get people to return to the game and especially to get new players interested, there needs to be a marketing strategy. Currently Minecraft as a whole has become immensely popular in the recent months. Content creators are returning to it, the gaming community is feeling more open to it, and the negative stigma attached to Minecraft is disappearing. Salted needs to get on this opportunity to put his server out there. Contact content creators, use fucking Grian, pull out whatever it takes to get Wynncraft out there, because currently Minecraft as a whole is seeing a revitalization in the West. Go to Twitch right now and you will see that Minecraft does consistently well in total viewers.

The recent trailer has been picked up by the youtube algorithm and has been advertized to a LOT of people (it's gonna hit 500k views soon!!)

So right now, the server suddenly got a huge influx of players, which is pretty good.

Gotta say I disagree on this one. First off I don't think a new class is gonna help at all. The 4 classes currently in the game are pretty lacking on their own so personally, I think updating those before making any new classes is a better approach.
Secondly I gotta say you make it sound a lot like salted is some greedy money hungry pig with isn't the case at all. If all he wanted was money he would have left the Minecraft server game a long time ago and gotten rich off of something else. I legitimately believe salted is doing this because he loves doing it.
I do however agree that advertising the server more and getting more players would be great. Especially now that the lower levels are a lot nicer so that new players don't get scared away.

 

No I said the purpose of the server was to make money. That doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy it or is passionate about it or is money hungry.

Yeah that's crazy, last I saw the trailer it had like 4k views and now it's 100x that. Noticed Wynn's been a lot more active as well, but I feel like there's a certain audience that it isn't reaching.

Same, I build myself. Well for wynncon, I was the head builder with Colin for one year. Fun it was.

Ether way, assuming you guys have alot to do, but hey, it doesn't need to be done now, just. Eventually, maybe.

When did Salted ever say that the purpose of Wynncraft is for money? It's a fucking mmorpg in minecraft with little to no pay2win aspects. (bc of eula)

I remember him saying that WC made enough for him to live in a small apartment. It's obvious when Salted doesn't add voting rewards to not force players to vote for the server that the server isn't made for money.

Salted doesn't need to explicitly state that the purpose of Wynncraft is for money. People run large scale servers and make cosmetics in the first place to make a living, this is job and his job is to make money. Now that doesn't take away from the fact that he might be passionate about his job or care deeply about it. Everyone is getting really defensive over him, because the nature of my vocabulary seems offensive in the eyes of many. For those of you who are offended by the connotation of my words, please read my previous statements on such connotations, and really think about what people are essentially saying before you coalesce into a hive of pure idiocy.
