Archer/Hunter Gales Force Air Damage Build. I Dunno How To Improve It So Im Looking For Advice

hopefully keeping this at a low budget cause all i need to complete this is the amulet and i need a good unravel.

 

Needs a lot of work. Damage is fine but sustain is really low.

Here's a variation on my current build: https://wynndata.tk/s/A6qMn0 10/4s mana regen, 9k bombs, and if your Steamjets and Ephemeral are pretty good you can reach 129 Int and get 2 mana bombs. Doesn't have as much Agi as your build, but elemental defenses are also a lot better.

Also, convention when posting builds is to avoid powdering armor except when it's relevant to the build's offense (i.e. if you're taking advantage of a powder special)

I’m just afraid that the lack of agility will be a hindrance especially with the fact that there isn’t too much survivability otherwise. Other than that I do like the build a lot

It's pretty good, although imo there are easier ways to get skill points. The Ephemeral allows good mana regen to be obtained easily, which frees up accesories for other options (I used it for more mr/int but have previously considered damage options). I wouldn't go lower than 94 Int because that get's 3 mana bombs. How about this? https://wynndata.tk/s/cmqyRK

Tbh I'd say the other build has plenty of Agi. My first LI solo was with a weaker version of that build.

 

going from 129 and 10/4 mr and 94 int and 6/4 mr takes your dps down by quite a lot, even if you have 1k higher bombs, your loss of mana lowers the dps. actually, that's assuming you can cast fast enough but eh (it's about 6 spells for 4 seconds)

as for the agility, you can just do 114 int and assign into agility, letting you hit 70% dodge chance (as opposed to the 76% on your build)

 

i mean think of it this way. 6/4 mana regen and 3 mana bombs is enough to deal optimal dps plus i'm going to be needing to use potions in between my damage rotation so in practice my dps doesn't suffer much from the intelligence loss. and i value the survivability a lot. like, A LOT. so i really do want that extra agility

i get what you're saying but with 6/4 mana i have very little problems and the raw spell damage from Sagittarius plus its air damage and agility is a lot of things i don't want to miss out on. i guess its a matter of play style too but i'm not always casting spells.

edit: plus i like the bonus walkspeed from sagitarius too

 

What are you planning to use this build against? I can't think of any situation where 6/4 and 94 Int hits optimal dps. I would say optimal dps is 11/4 and 114 Int (I can't quite manage continuous with 10/4 and 114), or 9/4 and 129.

My typical high-damage optimizing cycle (outside of wars) is just constantly alternating Bomb and Storm, occasionally switching bomb for shield if I'm up against something with strong melee. This works in practically every situation since Bomb doesn't interfere with Storm, so even e.g. against Cybel I have Storm firing continuously if I want to, while still being able to reset mana cost. (doesn't work as well against something like first phase Dr. Legendary, but that's mostly just because Heavy Flamethrower is absurdly powerful)

For wars none of this applies, since over there mana regen/Int takes even higher priority than in the rest of the game.

Agi being as it is, especially with Archer, no matter how much you have you'll still occasionally get oneshot by something unexpected. The run before my most recent full LI run, I lost to Mummyboard.

 

hmm. i see what youre saying. i guess its just a difference of playstyle really and i do see that i need more mana. i just need to get all these items now XD. speaking of that, how do i get the mats to swap my hive bow to boreal patterned?

Kill Qira 3 times, 3 Master Catalysts are used to swap between Master Hive items (it's 2 catalysts for elemental Hive, for future reference).

Edit: That Aquarius build looks alright, besides the elemental defenses. It's hard to patch the defenses without BPA, particularly seeing as Steamjets requires Dex anyway.

 

yeah that's what i said to the guy who showed me this build. it does however have high mana and int and agility so that's a plus. oh, and btw, would you by any chance want to do LI with me so i can get the necklace? i havent beaten it past cybel XD

 

I'm not very good at team runs, I've tried those in the past and I always end up doing worse than solo. If you're at Cybel though, you'll probably manage to finish it pretty soon. I spent months getting that far but only a few weeks getting past him.

Check around in shops, that's where I got mine. There's one shop that used to have over half a dozen of them.

There isn't a good substitute for Unravel - Air builds weren't very good until Unravel got added.
