Either I haven't understood any quests I've done, or all the lore gets explained after lvl 83.

There are a lot of sources for lore. For example, the Wynn Plains Secret Discoveries goes into a lot of depth about Ba'kal and Bob. Stuff like the meteors, history of Yahya/Nohno/Mehme is touched upon in a number of quests but only fully explored in ???, General Skien is hinted at by a random Troms citizen but you have to explore Skien's Island thoroughly and do Altar of Sanctification to really understand the lore there.

 

So like just a fraction of the lore is explained in the quests. I then have to explore by myself?

 

I wouldn't say a fraction. For example, pre-1.18 the desert lore wasn't as fleshed out as it is now, because of the Secret Discoveries, but we still had a decent idea of what was going on. The OP color-coding gives a good indication of this.

@FinnDestroyer Cerid is alive according to an NPC somewhere that I recently talked to - or at least, the NPC spoke as though Cerid was still around.

It was likely one about Heart of Llevigar. An NPC basically says that they expected Cerid to be the one who would fix the Heart.

• [Quest] - The three scientist brothers, Yahya, Nohno and Mehme, try to understand the meteor’s power, which causes them to go crazy.

• [Discovery] - Selchar is founded in the Ocean as a bridge between Wynn and Gavel.
• [Quest] - A corruption relic is later found beneath the newly established island town.

• [Quest] - Bob imbues his powers into his three loyal pets: Cluckles, Mooington and Baab. His chestplate is given to his friend Tarod.

I do like that idea, but I feel it makes the list a bit.... too busy, idk. But I'll keep that in mind.

 

Even if it was a little cramped it will still be better to have it instead of not, it's a helpful and easier way to know from where the information is. But i guess it's your choice.

K you said Bob was born in 854 ap, and he disappeared in 984, making him live until 130 years.
So Bob is some super healthy guy, or he doesn't age, or age doesn't work in Wynn, or he's just plain stupid to "fight a creature" at age 130.

 

I would choose the first option.
It's totally possible in Wynncraft.

 

It was already established from the beginning that Bob was not normal by any circumstance. The Library said that he carried gray skin. Compared to the rest of the city, who were fair skinned, he was a complete anomaly.

Besides, we have no clue how Wynn’s form of humans age. We have Mael being over 200-400 years old, Marius being even older.

Mael apparently taught him how the world works, it’s history, and a bunch of his secrets. He also taught him about other brands of magic.

My guess is that Mael gave his secret on how to prolong his life. That’s the most likely reason.

 

He could manipulate the midi-chlorians to preserve and extend life
