Contradicting Opinions

Example:

Me: This game is a good game - It'll be an interesting and engaging opportunity for players to improve their critical thinking skills, and to have some humorous interactions. It could even spark insightful and intelligent debates!

Some guy:
This game is a rubbish game - attacking other people's opinions encourages malicious intent and it also creates the possibility of degrading the self esteem and well-being of the community. It could even spark highly destructive flame wars!

If you're still confused, this is more of a FOR or AGAINST type of debate. The person has to:
- Reply AGAINST / FOR the previous opinion (including their reasoning) that was supported / not supported
- Come up with a new opinion for a new topic / thing / person / whatever that they are FOR / AGAINST - so it's sorta like a tennis match, with responses going back and fourth between FOR and AGAINST.

The opinion stated does not have to be your actual opinion (but it can be if you want it to be) which means that thread shouldn't be used as a way to make assumptions about what people's actual opinions and beliefs are.

Okay, I'll start!

Literature Clubs are a waste of time - They encourage students to dump all of their time into educational studying, which could lead to a narrow outlook in life. Taking breaks is a process of relaxation that enables a person to reset their feelings and relax their brains and muscles to removing such an essential part of life could be damaging in the long run.

(at this point the person replying would argue that Literature Clubs aren't a waste of time, or something among those lines along with reasoning)

If literature clubs were a waste of timex there wouldn't be a whole game based on it. I find it a fun way to improve my English skills with my friends. Just because it's a club focusing on a school subject doesn't mean we have to always be studying. Look at Yuri! She stabs herself in her freetime and she's part of the club!

Pedos are bad because they're making use of a little child's immature mind. (Anyone want to go FOR this? xd)

I have time to argue now, so I'll construct a better argument than Natsuki.

People should join clubs that they enjoy. For the people who enjoy literature, they should join a literature club. Some people find things like writing poems and reading a relaxing activity. I can't imagine why, especially for the latter, but hey, I'm not one to judge. No one said that literature has to be made into an educational activity. You don't have to do a book report on the book you're reading, or over analyze poems that you and your clubmates wrote, it can be just for fun. Therefore, literature clubs are not a waste of time for people who enjoy literature. They are only a waste of time if you don't enjoy literature and you're only in one for the sake of being in one.


Breath of the Wild is a meh game. There's not much actual content, aside from the godawful side quests which are comparable to pre-gavel wynn quests, the 20 or so main quests, and the shrines and korok seeds.

(This one might be harder to argue against because not everyone's played BotW)

Zelda BotW is a great game - the unique and reputable charcters such as Link and Zelda with their iconic cosmetics are second to none, and the gameplay features a fantasic environment to explore.

Earth is an awesome planet - she keeps us happy + warm in the summer, and refreshed + cool in the autumn / spring. She does get a bit sadistic during the peak of winter times (yarrgh freezing air blown by the shivering winds!) but that's her way of toughening us up and giving us a challenge to face.

Earth is a horrible planet- she keeps us sweating + overheated in the summer and, shivering + freezing in the winter. She's quite sadistic, allowing life to live only for it all to kill each other. If they don't get the job done, she sends earthquakes, volcanic erruptions and even tsunamis to deal with it.



People who beloeve in flat Earth are stupid. Obviously, earth is a dodecahedron, that God uses to play D&D with.

Dark Pit is a good fighter.

 

The earth is flat - I tested this by using a teleport scroll from Ragni to Ahmsord but it was still the same time of the day. If the earth was a dodecahedron then Wynncraft would have timezones :P

Tea is a truly exquisite drink to consume. The warm liquid's smooth flow plus the pleasant blend of density between the thin water and the lesser thin milk creates a spectacular combination that results in a soothing surge of dopamine.

 

Tea sucks because who ever makes it for me always forgets to add enough water, making the tea incredably strong.

Rain sucks to walk in because your clothes (and all your hw in your backpack) gets soaking wet, even with an umbrella.

Well, from my experiences he isn’t the most liked one.

If your pants are so long that they get soaked, you need better fitting pants. Also, how does your homework get wet if it’s zipped away in your backpack? Also Also, again, if an umbrella doesn’t cover you, you need a bigger one.


The Nintendo Switch is objectively much better than any Xbox or PS console. The portable “gimmick” is actually really nice, and the selection of games is much better.

 

Basically: Get better stuffz.

I can't contest because the only one I've played before was the PlayStation, and I've only played once on an Xbox.

Surströming is awful, it smells incredibly bad and tastes even worse. If someone's eating it in your vicinity you better have a hazmat suit ready.

 

It's all about enjoying the abstract things in life, and if you can't do that maybe you should not eat Surströming
