Overall Class Positions And Meta

okay so recently ive been thinking about class builds and the current "meta" (if you can even call it that).
Just for clarification I believe each of the classes use a certain role, as listed below: (Please read entire post)

Archer: (1st/2nd best class)
Main dps, glass cannon
Can be used with spell and melee
d i v z e r

Mage: (1st/2nd best class)
Lower overall damage than archer but can still do insane meteor spell damage, great utility
Healbotting (Heal spam)
Melee
Spellspam
Melee/spell

Assasain: (2nd/3rd best class) (Idon't play assasain and don't know much of how its played)
Solo LI/Qira/ToA
Spell and melee are both viable
Decent for war
Range of builds

Warrior (Easily worst class)
Only good for war with high survivability (With LS due to tankiness)
Melee more prominent because warrior spell isn't that high
Spell warriors are generally either too glass to be viable or don't do enough damage, essentially just sitting there.
Not good for soloing unless you have mythics (In general warrior just sucks without mythics, and even then still the worst class)

Overall warrior IS the worst class. Chances are you can make a higher dps build at level 85 with archer than warrior at level 103 (Which has happened to me). Mage is overall the best for soloing due to the decent tankiness, survivability, and dps of the kit. Assasain would be next because invis is incredibly good and can be abused by skilled players. Next is archer, which has the highest dps, but lacks in health. Then warrior ofc.

I think its time that warrior needs either a buff or a rework for its abilities, primarily uppercut and/or bash. Something kind of absurd that COULD be a possibiliy brought up by my friend BTDmaster is replacing one of said abilities with a sort of flamethrower like ability. I know that flamethrower is incredibly annoying as bosses but it could give warrior some more relevance in something besides 22k wars.

Also maybe mage and archer needs a nerf but I think its fine; warrior just sucks right now with the lack of items and overall raw dps. (And while tanking is a think, Agi is much more effective imo. Plus defense is overall just not great right now; hence why fire archer doesn't generally exist)

If you read through the entire post, thanks! I would love opinions/ideas for changes to warrior and other classes.

that feeling when warrior's too glass

you literally hit 78 defense and you cap out on neutral resistance at 95%

meanwhile archer with 150 defense sitting at a hot 40% neutral resistance


anyway, i'd say things are quite opposite of what was said in this thread

while warrior is probably 2nd best for no pot 22k soloes from its tankiness, its kb sort of screws it over in a war situation without a good wall, and warrior sort of falls out when potions are brought into play.

this is compared to LI or bosses etc, where you can corner the boss with kb and spam bash + uppercut (you can bash a boss out of uppercut to get epic dps, easier with a roof like in LI)

warrior's dps isn't that bad (outside of wars), it's better than mage, and about as good as arrow bomb only archer. problem is your choices to compare to are assassin's 3 spell combo and archer's arrow storm, both of which are stupid high.

 

Apoc tier stack does around 10k damage with optimal builds, and thats pretty bad (although you never die)

Overall warrior has the lowest damage in spell (Melee is pretty good although spell is just better for most classes)
Personally, through my run of warrior (All main quests done, along with every dungeon, LI, and wybel) It was a pain to solo everything. I even had an easier time soloing ToA with a level 81 archer than my level 100 warrior.

3x uppercut first hit (needs 114 int)
1x uppercut
69k total damage

as you can see, mage gets slowly limited by the meteor spell cast time, whereas warrior can abuse the uppercut first hit then cancel the air time with bash. not sure if it's just the first hit or all 3, but i only calculated with the first hit to be safe. the full uppercut is for the end of the cycle.

 

Not an Ideal build tho, mage has much higher peak than warrior (And spell warrior is an annoyance if playing with other ppl because uppercut gey)

 

God, what a rant.
In all honesty you don't seem like someone who's ever actually used warrior, and if you have, you probably suck at it.

First off, warrior, can and will solo legendary island. I mean I do it without pots, and I can do it with everyone of my warriors.

Second off, intelligence warrior isn't bad. Its dps is better then mages, and when you have a decent build, you can be pretty damned tanky. I can solo li island, again without pots, aswell as solo 1k guild wars without pots.

 

mage doesn't have much higher peak than warrior

mage has a maximum of 4 meteors per 4 seconds
warrior has a maximum of 5 bashes + 5 uppercut cancels per 4 seconds (although nailing the uppercut cancel consistently probably takes practice)

i do agree that warrior is sort of worse in a party (no heal, kb) though

i added a second warrior build

 

I'd say those make for a pretty good comparison, for thunder 14k is a high meteor damage and likewise for 17k uppercuts. Imo Warrior and Mage have about equal dps because both have significant delay on spells, although I don't know to what extent Warrior's spells can be simultaneously utilized for damage so it might actually be higher. And that Defense boost is extremely powerful...

Also what happened to Courage?

I actually find Uppercut pretty useful in groups because it can lock a knockback-taking mob in place for a full Arrow Storm.

 

200+ hours on warrior, yes I know its the worst class. I've far too many builds (Dps isn't better than mage unless you use something stupid or mythics/customs) war is easy enough, LI i'm just bad at tho

Courage doesn't buff teammates from what I understand (I don't know if it buffs yourself though)

 

courage boost doesn't do anything or something

then you're doing something wrong

if you're just uppercutting, that's wrong
if you're just bashing, that's also wrong

i usually do one of two things:
if low mana:
bash spam, then uppercut right before out of mana

if higher mana:
uppercut, then bash right as the mob starts flying into the air. the bash sends the mob back to the ground, so you get 2/3 of the uppercut damage + bash damage

 

Okay overall warrior CAN have higher dps, but mage has much better sustain due to teleport and heal (Plus the ice snake stun is really good for bosses like CoW, although its pretty low level)

Warrior, yes, can tank and do decent damage, but its just slow and the melee can be really annoying against things like death or amadel.

or maybe im just bad at warrior mechanics and am just better with mage

pls check someone's stats before assuming things like this, and don't be straight up rude by saying they suck if they have played warrior but just haven't made godly builds
