    I looked around for a while, but I seem to be unable to find the fabled refineries. Where are they? I honestly don't know where they are.

    The most easily accessible ones are the four in Detlas Suburbs, which work pretty well for the first 30-40 levels or so for each skill.

    you can refine the raw materials you mine, fish, farm or lumber(idk if thats the correct word) into refind materials which you can use to craft armor, weapons, food, potions, scrolls and jewelery
