Favorite Item Names?

Just for fun. I like Boreal-Patterned Aegis because it flows so well, and of course the Orange Wybel weapons because of the cool theme naming.

 

The Banhammer and Tracer, Mercy are bay

 

Necrosis uh oh

 

I like it when the names describe what the item does very well, like with praesidium, accelerator or pandemonium.

Obviously all the Gert weapons are amazing
(Gert Rock Smashbanger, Gert Swingpoke Cuttyrock, Gert Shootstick Tossflinger, Gert Whooshy Bonkpole, Gert Super Special Magic Ultistick, Gert Shakestomper Toefeet, Gert Bumpstump Legcovercloth, Gert Veryhard Chestclothes)
And then I'd have to mention some early game armour, as it has some great things like 'Knee', 'Dapper Trilby', 'Upside Down Bowl', 'The Euphoric Fedora' and 'Lemon Legs', to name a few
I also like that inbetween level 95+ wands like Sequoia, Cyclone, Yggdrasil and The Lethe there's just Drumstick

Something along those Lines, i've died twice to it because of it's negative health Regen

So I will never forget.

 

How do you die to -8 to -4 health regen, it's so low that the base HPR almost nullifies it

 

Don't Ask, way to many other items with negative health regen.

Also, -HR can only bring you down to 1 HP. It can never actually kill you.

My favourite item name is the Lance of Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli. The name originated from a mythical blowdart wielded by the Aztec deity Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli (this is true, go look it up). It is an April Fools joke I made within the Item Team last year as a "new item" under the disguise of a concept thorns/reflection bow, to fit the lore and make it appears more absurd and unbelieving I said it is going to have a thunder spear texture coz "it fits the reference". None of the IMs realised it was April Fools and we had serious debates about its concept and viability and I only revealed it a week afterwards.

Agreed, all the CIB items sound really nice.

Should be a real item tbh, even if it's mostly useless for regular play that would be pretty cool.

 

Here’s mine:

Conduit of Spirit: It has a nice ring to it.

Asphyxia: Some people didn’t like how it was based on the medical condition, but that’s exactly why I like it, it’s a clever item by making you more powerful in exchange for your air power.

Gigabyte: Any computer/technology reference is welcome in my book.

Judas: All of the CSST weapons are references to religion, specifically christianity, which is...interesting, but out of all of them, this one has the most obvious reference. (I also love the -life steal and water damage, as in, you’re betraying yourself by using this)

Achilles: See above, except this one’s a greek mythology reference.


There’s probably more, but I can’t really explain them without just saying, “I like how they sound”. Also, honorable mention to the uth weapons and the zodiac “set”.
