Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal retains his grip, looking around.

 

"I haven't seen her much recently, but she's been kind of down after having to deal with that phoenix." Katie says.

 

"After this, I'll go check in on her. She seems pretty moody, though..."


Meanwhile, what seems to be a disfigured human steps past the earth guardian statue on the mountain. The only signs of injury or wear on their body are a few scratches on an exoskeleton of sorts around their arms.
They seem wary, unsure if the path up is over.

He briefly makes eye contact with Linoa, who looks a bit annoyed with herself.
"Sorry about that. Thought you were wandering off."

 

“Nah. I’m here.”
Crystal smiles.

 

"I think she's more disappointed in herself." Katie comments.


The disfigured human can only hear silence, the dark moon shining brightly in the night sky; it's half fully visible. Judging by the lack of corpses on the path ahead, it seems the challenges mountain path ends here.

 

"She can't take on everything that comes on her own. None of us can."


It steps forwards slowly and looks around at what else is at the peak, seemingly untrusting of the sudden lack of pressure.

"Let me know if you're going to pull at the tether next time, if you wouldn't mind."

 

"I think she tries to sometimes," Katie sighs, "But she's still a really great friend when you need her!"

Katie gives a cheerful, childish smile.


A large dojo like structure stands before the human, a square bricked courtyard with various metal weapons and a few signs of damage from combat in front of him. The front doors seem to be closed, but at the top of a treacherous mountain, probably not locked.

 

"Ofcourse not. I'm sleeping in a cold, circular hut. I won't mind."

 

"I just wish she wasn't so bent on not liking Rineth."


They sit down in the open, still untrusting. Anyone who can sense power would notice an amount of strength surpassing a god, though anyone able to sense emotions would find hesitance and uncertainty.

"I mean, it'll get warmer after a few minutes, but... I do sort of have the ability to speed that up."

 

"Well, she's told me he's a pervert and tried to kill her a few times," Katie says, thinking, "But I think she's just making jokes. Rineth is really nice!"


A Shadow with a large beard opens the front doors, looking directly at the human before beckoning them to come inside.

 

“That’s why I’m worried. I don’t want her to start making stuff up in her head against me.” Ihra admits.


It seems distrusting before glancing at one of the scratches on its exoskeleton and heading inside anyways.

 

"She likes you though, we all do!" Katie says happily.


"I'm impressed you made it here so unscathed. It is late, however. Let me show you to a room." The bearded Shadow says.

 

“She liked Rineth too, then suddenly just didn’t.” Ihra says, concerned.


The humanoid tilts its head, seeming even more uncertain before breaking eye contact and following wherever it’s guided.

 

"Maybe the three of you could talk about it?" Katie suggests.


The bearded Shadow leads the humanoid into a quiet part of the dojo, the floor designed to muffle the sound of footsteps as they're lead to a private room with a simple bed. A small table and chair with some unlit incense sticks also sits in the room, though it's rather plain as rooms go.

 

“That’d be a good idea. I wish there was more than one of me, though... so many things to do nowadays.”


It enters, then sits down next to the bed and looks at the incense before looking towards the shadow.
“Fff... ffhh... thhhhain. Hhh... hhhue.” It rasps, as airy as it is quiet.

 

“I didn’t mean to, sorry.”

 

"Please do."

I'll curl up in the hut, which I assume is a bit hard looking at the size of it.

 

"That'd be scary, what if one of you tried to kill the original you?" Katie asks, scared.


"Get some rest, you must be exhausted after your journey here. We can communicate tomorrow." The bearded Shadow says, leaving and closing the door.

 

"Oh yeah... that'd be a problem. Maybe that's really a bad idea..."


The humanoid sits there for a while.

In the morning, there's a dome-shield of bone sitting next to the bed, presumably covering the humanoid.

"It's fine. Sort of hard to keep track when the tether can be different lengths."

It's a bit of a tight fit, but you manage.
Anne adjusts herself to lay next to you in the opening, though her body might be too warm after a few hours.
